Sorry, I think I missed the pics you posted where you indicated it was the custom built rolling benches you wanted detail on. These are made from 2x4's and plywood, using StrongTite screw in braces. An Ikea wooden countertop was used for the smaller one, with plywood on the larger. I boxed...

Thanks Joe - Are you interested in the large wall rack? I got that at Lowes but I have seen other places as well. You can "chain" these together and thus share the legs, in my garage I fit two sections. I used screwed in plywood on the top level to support the heavy items (alignment stands...

Some highlights and answers to possible questions: Epoxy Floor (huge improvement in any garage) Lowes Valspar Epoxy color, chips and clear. Massive prep job before applying this. I did the floor, and the rest of the renovation myself. Floor was the single most time consuming item. This was my...

The attic is pretty full also, there is a home improvement tool room in the basement and I've got a 12'x24' shed in the back for bikes, tires and yard equipment. If not for those spaces, the clutter battle would be a loser.

So I've owed this thread updates for a long time. Cliff notes version is that I did the renovation about 18 months ago and been enjoying my new garage ever since. Here is an album of the process: https://goo.gl/photos/2i3FRfUgFYznavfz6

Goals and Objectives DRAFT Alpha What do I want from this renovation? Aside from an all new stand alone building, I'd like to improve my ability to do project work. So better workspaces and tool organization/access. Right now things are so tight that making room to work and getting tools...

Here is a simple drawing of what I am working with. The ceiling is 8' up and the walls and ceiling are sheetrock. An unpainted slab is the floor with an unknown thickness and insulation (if any!). Right now only one 15 amp circuit feeds the few outlets, and that is shared with the laundry...

Metal vs. Wood Battle number one has been joined. I'd like to have an insulated metal door with windows replacing the very weary wooden door on the garage now. My wife wants a wooden door because of the beauty and "curb appeal" factor. She loves the wooden garage door on the home across the...

Thanks for the encouragement gentlemen. Lets address a few questions. The old garage, bless its high ceilings and 200 amp service, was 32' x 40' and I used every inch for something. The custom made side workbench alone was longer than my entire "new" garage. But that was then, and this is...

Greetings All - First Post. I've got a typical two car garage (25x20) attached to my 1978 built home. Never been updated. I do lots of car and home renovation projects and have lived with this poor excuse of a garage since I bought the house in 2002. My garage door is a double sized wood version...

Installing garage doors next week, am I crazy?
