    Riprap for retaining wall?

It’s possible to make a good wall with rocks, but 5-7in is really small. It all depends on the angle of the wall. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Insulation on both sides of a vapor barrier?

#3 should probably be #1 - unless you’re using your shop to dry huge stacks of green lumber all winter you can probably do anything you want. That said, 8in of insulation is already a LOT. Just framing in some dead air against the outside wall is probably just as good as if you throw insulation...

Need advice: New foundation not level

I don’t know what the implications of raising the grade are for your building, but unless it’s helpful I’d sure be tempted to tear it out and pour a new slab. Covering up a mistake seems to bite me in the *** every time I do it. In this case, if you take the slab out and start fresh the new...

Recommend tools to remove a few small trees

A Pulaski is what you need. I wouldn’t bother with the saws-all (although there are lots of other good uses for it). A reasonably sharp ax will chop through roots faster than you can get them clear enough for the saw. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pulaski_(tool) Sent from my iPhone using...

In slab dust collection, air and power

Those are drain boxes from the irrigation supply house, but I made the covers. It would have been smart to mount the outlets on the side of the box. As it is, the cover is on most of the time and it’s worked out ok to just vacuum them out occasionally. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    rust removal

Good to know. There is an old lathe that will eventually come with these. I’ll have to see how well I can get it setup, and learn to run it, then I can get a new set... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

In slab dust collection, air and power

I’ve never notice condensation in my system. I would guess that it would take quite a while (years?) to build up. I did run 40ft of galvanized pipe under the slab specifically to run compressed air through to dry it out. I haven’t actually plumbed it into the system though. The plan is to hook...

    rust removal

I picked these up yesterday from my father in law. Any suggestions for how to treat them? My goal is just to have them usable and protect from further damage. I’ve never used evaporust and I do have access to an ultrasonic parts cleaner. however, if I can get by with a little hand cleaning and...
