    Industrial Metal Desks

Re: Steelcase Tanker Desk Desk is no longer available If anyone in the area is interested, I'm looking to get rid of this one quickly for short $. (need the space) I'd rather see it go to a GJ member Tanker Desk. 60" wide, 30" deep, 29 1/2" tall. Just disassembled (45minutes). Have all...

Raising Ceiling Joists / Collar Ties

Thanks for all the great ideas. So far it look like the best way would be to create a ridge beam over the lift bay and support each end using bar joists. See this link for photos: http://www.sammemmolo.com/sams_garage_2.htm --Dave

Looking for a 4 post lift

Re: Same Situation I’m in the same situation and had narrowed it down to the BYB and the Rotary Revolution. Lots of good info on this board….. asedeals.com has some nice BP’s Greg Smith has the popular Pro Parks I’m currently leaning towards the Rotary but will be also taking a second look...

Bend Pak HD-9 or Pro Park 9?

"404: File Not Found" ??? "It isn't that a company has a problem that is important, it is how the company handles the problem." Junkman, I agree with you but it very unfortunate that we've become a society that expects / accepts quality defects in a new product and must make our purchase...

Bend Pak HD-9 or Pro Park 9?

Getting ready to pull the trigger on a 4 post lift and was wondering what safety features are lacking on the BYB? Thanks for the info BTW: I had narrowed it down to a BYB or Rotary Revolution. I like the BP but it seemed many had some sort of quality issue upon initial assembly. That could be...

Raising Ceiling Joists / Collar Ties

By moving the 7 rafter ties up 24" I could fit the lift with a car (67 Camaro). This would place the rafter ties in the bottom 2/3 of the peak to wall top plate distance. I could gusset the new raised ties to the rafters and add rafter brackets at the top wall plate. Would this significantly...

Raising Ceiling Joists / Collar Ties

I believe I would call this traditional construction. No "W" trusses Can you give me a example of the sheet metal brackets you are refering to? Would I use one on each side of the rafter at the top of the wall? Thanks for all the great info so far

Raising Ceiling Joists / Collar Ties

Craig-- Thanks for the good info. I guess the current ceiling joists are acting as Rafter ties. I wonder if it would be adequate if I sistered the current rafters and raise the rafter ties less than 50% the distance from the top wall plate to the peak. (35.75") --Dave

    Clopay Cable Tensioner

New to the forum. Just wanted to say thanks for all the great info here. I'm about to pull the trigger on the Rotary Revolution 4 post lift. The project will involve changing my door tracks to follow the roof slope. I think I'm going to need longer cables and my question is.... Do these...
