Looks good, I may have the ratchet you need for it also, already restored.
There's a thread on here somewhere where a gent restored one of these old boxes that was severely worse off than yours.
Hopefully you can search it out or someone can direct you to the link. (I'll try to find it).
I just picked one of these up to add to my collection. It was locked up solid and I had to soak it, and then eventually drill out one of the screws to finally get inside it. It's currently doing a slow soak, and then hitting the parts washer again before I polish it up (well kinda) and then...
Re: Show us Your Vintage ratchet before and after restoration!!!!!
I just popped open a SK similar to this and everything appeared in order. I cleaned it, scraped the old greasy **** out and oiled it. However it still won't grab in one direction despite everything appear in functional.
Guess...
Truly amazing workspace that you've created. You're attention to detail is awesome. I've really enjoyed seeing your progress and hope to continue to do so.
Re: Craftsman's Lost Ratchet History - The Story of the "Intermediate" Ratchet
That looks to be legitimate. I have many vintage craftsman ratchets as well as snap on. If someone needs a reference photo let me know.
I really like the aesthetics also. I'm in need of a "small" garage in my backyard for a shop area also.
The 2 stall currently under my bedroom isn't quite large enough for projects, plus I don't like welding in my house
Habitat is great. I went in looking for a old tube radio, and the woman took me to one in the back. She assumed no one would want anything that old, so she happily let me have it for 5$.
Thanks guys, by GG I assume you mean garage gallery forum? That's too bad, I find this forum to be a great place, and have dealt with a lot of you personally on tool sales/purchases with no issue.
Anyway, back to the thread I guess...
