Above 1200 Sq/FT Mountain State Shop Build

I had PPB put up a 24x40x12 last summer. Good job, nice building and I think you will be pleased with the results. I built the pad and did the excavating (we own machinery/trucks). Every person I delt with from that company was great, good communications and concerned about what the landowner...

Grading / Raising low side with fill 3.5ft for pole building garage

Compaction is the key. Not knowing the loader size, I would opt for a decent vibratory roller. Also, the structure of the fill dirt used needs to be considered. Round rocks do not pack well, bank run gravel works some times. Around here red shale (compacted) can't be beat.

    Pole Building Builders in Pa

Pioneer Pole Buildings - They did mine, daughter/son, brother in law, farm next door etc. Excellent to deal with and a good product at a fair price.

Building new garage - Ceiling height for lift?

My walls are 12 foot & lots of room to lift my cars (no trucks). I think 10 foot would be marginal.

Concrete read to park on in 7 days?

I was told 21 days by the mason that did the floor in my pole building for cars. 28 days before using my lift.

Anyone have a connection for better pricing on a 4 post lift?

Good Luck finding a better price. You may have difficulty finding one in stock as they still seem to be in short supply. The one I bought this Spring is up $800 in price at the local dealer. I wanted a BendPack (now made in China) but no one had any in stock. The used ones I saw were rusty junk.

Anyone familiar with the "Auto Lift" Brand?

That model is a generic one as I have the same thing in a Tuxedo brand. Made in China and I have no regrets of buying it. Works for my Camaro, Vette etc. Needed a part that I broke, ordered it from my local dealer and got it UPS in a couple of days (part came out of Texas). It came with...

    Used 4 post lift.

Replace all the cables first, then the motor/pump and air lock valves. You are buying just the iron frame (my opinion) that needs everything replaced. Parts are pricey..... Cheap or walk away

    LiftMaster 8500W vs Chamberlain RJO70

LiftMaster 8500W - local vendor I bought from sell lots of them. Works for me.

    mig Welder recommendation?

Eastwood -- just bought a 140 amp with $25 off and free shipping over Labor Day. I could not justify the added expense of a red or blue one. Also, this is (Eastwood) an inverter style and the red/blue is a transformer style.

    Gravel base

Top soil was removed to the hardpan. The new pole (24x40x12) building's pad was 37 ton of #2 crushed stone installed with 3 lifts. Pad was 30x46 as per the builder. Compacted each lift with a Wacker Hyrdostatic plate . Nasty machine, about 850 lbs, but it worked good. Re- graded the pad...

    30x40x10 shop light recommendations

In my new garage (24x40x12) I have 10 four foot 42 watt, 5000k LED lights. Basically they are on every other truss, two foot in from the center line. Bright, easy install and less than $200 from Amazon. If I should need more light in the future, I plan on installing some wall units similar to...

    4-Post lift on wheels

I'll put my flame suit on before I type my comment. I bought a "made in China" lift from a dealer close to my home. Will use it as a storage lift most of the time for my 3400 lb Nova or my Corvette. It is a 4 post Tuxedo 8000 lb and it seems to work good. Came with wheels, drip pans and a...

    Fill around culverts?

Recently had a 25' length of 15" HDPE pipe installed in the driveway. Contractor used "modified" around it. Modified in this area is #2 stone with dust, packs in great.

    Gutters on a Garage?

No gutters on our new 24'x40' pole building. We are in a snow area and gutters take a beating. No gutters on the house or 30'x90' old building. I would like to have 40' of gutter on the one side of the new building just to move the water away from that area. The other side drops off, so no...
