    Best way to transport a drill press

    As others have said, lower it and strap it. I just moved my shop 2500 miles. Drill press was the last thing loaded so it was next to the forklift. Similar height and weight. When I bought the press years ago, I hauled it standing up on a one ton Ford. Had no idea until I loaded it how heavy it...

    Shed - How do I skirt the sqft rules?

    Up here in Yellowhead county we've been getting around that 107 sf shed thing for years with semi trailer vans. 8.5' x 40', 45', 48' or 53'. They're on wheels (so no permit), they're cheap ($2500 or less), and a couple of loads of gravel at the end will give you a ramp if you need it.

    so; how much is hydro where you live??

    Here in Quebec we're billed every two months and I also heat with electricity, so don't be shocked at the consumption. 5,610 kwh for a total of $466.25 including taxes which works out to 8.3 cents/kwh

    White Oak Trees (Should I sawmill them?)

    White oak has a beautiful tight grain that when quarter sawed looks amazing. I had some quarter sawed and kiln dried two years ago and did my kitchen cabinets with it last year. Turned out beautiful.
