    Harbor Freight Coupon Thread

Part of the reason I will not join the ITC.....my information never pops up in their system no matter how many times they input it. Now that the coupons are gone, I hardly shop there anymore. Why do I have to pay to save money?

Miller Multimatic 215 vs Lincoln Power Mig 210MP

So I pulled the trigger on a Miller Multimatic 220. I went through Welder Supply.com them and Cyber Weld were giving you a free Miller autodarkening helmet, but Welder supply also gave a paid of good welding gloves and a t shirt and stickers. When I got the package, it had two different...

Miller Multimatic 215 vs Lincoln Power Mig 210MP

I have been thinking of replacing my Century AC/DC stick welder and Miller 135 mig welder with one of these multi process machines. I was looking at the Miller 215 and the Lincoln MP210 welders. After some consideration I was going to go with the Miller. But then when I saw the Tig was not...

    Gravel driveway grid systems

Yes you can. I am surprised no one mentioned the concrete paver system what was designed specifically for drive ways or parking areas. You can just put gravel in them, or add soil and seed and you have grass. https://www.mutualmaterials.com/products/turfstone-pavers/ Now if it were me, there...

Jacking up a porch rim joist?

If your going to the trouble of jacking it up now to fix interior stuff, you should just do it right from the beginning. Reason why is if you have to re jack when doing a permanent repair to the foundation, you will very likely move stuff again and damage the drywall again, resulting in having...

Fluorescent LED replacements - Shunted/non-shunted tombstones, single/dual ended?

Honestly I did this to one of my fluorescent shop lights in the garage attached to my house. But after the cost of doing that vs the cost of buying new led shop lights, I opted to just get rid of the fluorescent lights all together and go with new LED shop lights. I bought these when it came...

Ideas for sealing up this wall

Spray foam as mentioned above. You can get canisters of it online, or through local roofing supply places (some lumber yards might carry it as well) Common name is Froth Pak. You can spray a thin layer in the stud cavity, then install fiberglass batts.

Metal Ceiling - Garage Door Track

Here is what my garage door installer did. They are a large company that serves a large area (not overhead door company) They lagged the angle into the roof truss at each end.

    Metal lathe

I think this is probably a better option, if he still has it. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/681291312655664

    Metal lathe

So with all the **** going one since March (not just COVID ****) I have not had a chance to get a lathe yet. I have kept looking, but waht I was finding was either to expensive, way to far to get or gone very quickly. One I have had my eye on for a while just dropped $500 bucks ao I might go...

    Sikaflex 1CSL

It would probably be ok to use. If there are control joints on your slab, might want to fill them prior to them installing steel, otherwise you will stilll end up with a gap there. It stays flexible so it will move as the building moves. Anything is better than nothing and I would probably...

    Sikaflex 1CSL

Only issue I could see is its a self leveling product, so it may not have the desired effect you are looking for. This is meant to be used in expansion joints in concrete pads and where concrete wall panels meet blacktop or concrete slabs.

"Made in USA with Global Materials": Where it's Actually Made.

The "Made in (whereever)" game has been going on forever with maufacturers, not just tool. Remember back in the 80's the Toyota pick ups with the 2 piece bed sides?? Ever wonder why they were 2 piece, especially on a small truck when every other manufacturer was making one piece bedsides...
