Well duh. Even though I switched two feed wires already, to make sure coil wasn't seeing the wild leg of RPC, when I swapped the next two pairs as a last ditch effort, bam, she latched beautifully. 25hp RPC runs my Kellogg 10hp 352 pump like a dream, and I'm a happy camper!

youll have to get the specs on the motor youre getting, like super dreamer said, namely the FLA of the motor... and then source motor overloads a.k.a. heaters to match up the new motors FLA rating. Look into the starter box for a big chart of heater sizes, and then google the part number, youll...

Just got done fixing up a 10hp Kellogg compressor, repaired the unloaders, and installed a new check valve. My big old 25hp RPC started it before I had hooked it up to the tank no problem. Well this turned into a royal pain in the ***. Every single system on this compressor was neglected. Centrifugal unloader, completely plugged with carbon, non functioning. Unloader lines were packed with carbon too. Pilot valve for continous run, completely gummed up. Head unloaders-shot to...

They just drop into the head, so at least I dont have to chase down $200 in valve tools. If anyone can advise on wisdom of rebuilding the valves, vs spending $200-300 on new ones, Id appreciate it. heres the pic I was tryin to upload last nite. Horror show. top left valve was busted up, I guess...

Update: Pulled head off, what a mess. Top right valve was busted up (there was a three legged little standoff piece that was broken on top of valve) top left covered in rust, bottom two have oil and carbon. Looks like the unloaders have a lot of side to side play too. No scoring on...

Ill drain the oil tomorrow and report back. I got the compressor for a song, so hoping its not too messed up. Its been indoors its whole life, so they arent torch marks, but good guess though.
