Anyone use the Harbor Freight Motorcycle Lift table?

Going to dig up this old thread again..... Just got a HF flyer and they have the lift for $299 IIRC. Today I think that is still a good deal, and like most here I have looked at other tables but for over a grand not sure it is worth it to me. I will need to make up something for a mower and...

Can anyone make a case for China Craftsman?

It is not made in china that is the problem....it is the spec that it is built to. China....or anyone for that matter will build your widget to whatever price point you want. You want quality you are going to pay for that quality...no matter where it is made....it has nothing to do with...

The Harbor Freight 20t Press mod thread!

I have pounded the **** out of mine....last thing I did was use it to press out 60 yr old king pins.....it was really getting some twist on there and you are getting nervous....then POP the pin is out and I am back on my project. I think I spend $150 on the thing....I know it was well under...

    Cooling off cars?

One other thing to think of.... I had a 944, black and one hot summer day I brought it into the AC garage....by the time I got to the door to go into the house I hear a SNAP. I guess the windshield had a chip or something and sure enough it cracked the glass. First and only time that has ever...

How did u raise your 2 post lift beams

I was charged $400 for two guys to install my life....BEST $400 I HAVE EVER SPENT. They did everything but wire it. They had a crane on their truck to lift them up.

I think China Craftsman's quality is improving.

Well if you find any coins that are stamped like that please send them to me....you know quality has gone to hell.....well right after they started minting coins by machine. So just send them my way....such garbage, and they are likely made by china as well.

    Show your Railroad Rail Anvils

Shoot mine is just a hunk of rail....I have also found tons of uses for the spikes as well... GOOD steel in that stuff.

Household or small shop welding unit.

IMHO asking one machine to do all that is really going to drive up your costs....weld steel, stainless steel and aluminum are all pretty different.....and most mig setups that I know need a special gun to "pull" the wire and not push it like a normal wire. IIRC it is also pretty bright and hot...

    Craftsman toolbox quality death spiral

I so agree...check out the General tool boxes at HF, they are really fantastic tool boxes....I am amazed at the quality. There is quite a bit of the HF stuff that seems to be stepping up. I looked everywhere, truck tool boxes are stupid expensive, big box stores had good boxes, but a little...

    Craftsman In Retrospect

That was a good read. We have metric but we don't need whitworth.....some of my OLD british cars had them but I sold all that stuff off long ago.

Sounds like you have been down that road....I bolted a stop to the drum....fricken stop broke the concrete, but that bar did not bust....I was amazed.
