    Question about the other STUFF

when we moved into our house 3 years ago there was no garden shed only the 20x40 shop. I soon built a 10x14 shed for the garden stuff. a ride em take up alot of room. Plus I keep all my flammables out there just in case. The only thing flammable in my shop is motor oil and the parts washer fluid.

    2 Car Tandem Garage

I would build a small workbench beside the freezer. how high is the roof? make a shelf up high down the longside and store stuff up off the ground. I have a tandem garage like you but its 20' wide(less with bump outs for doors) x 40' deep

    Pouring and finishing concrete?

if you are looking for a smooth finish then yes apower trowel will be helpful. BUT they are not easy to use and I have seen many a slab ruined by an inexperienced PT operator! if one side of the 10' is clear you can rent a bull float with long handles and a fresno(basically a wide finish trowel...

Increasing Garage Door Height on Existing Home

with the brick on the outside it won't be easy. they have a lentil that the brick is sitting on. you would need to cut the brick back and install a new lentil and rebrick that area. looks like lots of height to do it though. I would install a hidden kill switch or two in the truck as extra...

    My new garage project

Lots of work! Will be worth it in the end though. I guess you can't drive back to it? Easier than a wheel barrow!

    Workbench idea

My house had a bench built like that on a common 2x6 wall between the garage and family room. Needless to say one session of changing u-joints made my wife mad. I built a new 4 legged bench on the opposite wall and used some angle iron clips to secure it to the wall to stop the bench from moving...

I think the best way is kick one of the other cars (or the tractor) outside for a while!

Question for you engineers or tool experts?

The only way you would loose some to torsion is if you did it way to fast. You wouldn't allow time for all the torsion to get taken up and transfer all the torqu to the bolt head.

    Garage Plans

I'm not sure I know what you mean. Do you mean 8' doors? I've never had problems with 16' wide doors.

    Cabinet depth

rip one of the boards in half (or thirds) and make the cabinets whatever depth you want. 10" isn't too bad but it will be a pain for bulkier items.

Badly cracked concrete - floor covering suggestions needed

You either leave it the way it is and take the hit when you resale or tear it out and replace it and improve the value of the house. Fixing concrete is a stop gad measure and always looks worse in a few years. Its like filling cracks in your driveway. In 6 months the filler looks worse than the...

Newbie seeks advice on new garage epoxy prepping please!

my directions recommended paint thinner for getting some stains off! Srub that area again with a degreaser and see if it will come off. any paint stains (there was a some good ones in mine) I used a wire brush and it worked great.

Newbie seeks advice on new garage epoxy prepping please!

Def. clean again if you have dust on your hand. As said you should be able to wipe the floor and get nothing. I just got done doing 800 ft2 with the water based rustoleum product. I cleaned with TSP solution then hand scrubbed areas that had paint stains (no grease/oil on the floor) then used...
