What have you used your engine hoist for besides engines?

What's resale value of USA Craftsman sockets

I recently bought a set of deep metric sockets from 8-19mm for $17, set was new but purchased from a reseller. if you are paitent and willing to sell in smaller sets you likely could make more than selling as a lot. Chiz1180

    Gluing Plywood to Aluminum

The key is having a bit of flex in your adhesive after it cures. This is why vhb tape works so well. But its also kind of expensive. If you have an event dealer close by they might have something that would work well. Chiz1180

What is a fair price on a 5" Wilton bullet vise?

I asked a similar question a while ago. Where you live seems to have a lot to do with price. For what its worth, I bought my 4 inch non-swivel base in unrestored condition for $100. In my area, I thought that was a great deal as its hard to find someone selling one. chiz1180

    The VISES of Garage Journal

Over the weekend I was able to acquire this 4in bullet, date code is 7-945. Next to my baby bullet. From what I can gather, it appears that this is a rather early one. Looking foreword to more consistent warmer weather so I can get it cleaned up. chiz

    Chiz1180's small workbench build

Thanks for all the complements, here is where is the rest to how it currently sits. I made some shelf brackets out of angle and used plywood for the two shelf's. I primed it. And then it got too cold to do much else on, so I put it temporarily put it together and started using it! I have...

    Festool tools

The best thing festool has going for them is their system. Steel plate for workbench

if you already have the plate, there is no reason you cant affix it to your current bench to have a more durrable/easier to clean/whatever reason you want a steel top workbench for. There is no reason you cant rebuild your bench later on to fit your needs as they arise. im with lakeroadster...

    Chiz1180's small workbench build

After flattening and a few passes threw the drum sander. After adding "breadboard" ends. Around this point I started on the metal frame. I am far from a real welder, but I can make it work. I did end up TIG welding it, and yes it took forever. But I do not have access to a 220V MIG. Next...

    Chiz1180's small workbench build

I realize that a lot of bench builds are on here, but I feel my take is a little bit different. I started this project about 4-5 months ago and its still a work in progress, but I wanted to share what I have thus far. So first off I started with the following: a pile of hard maple gym floor...

Starting over - Which you buy first, 3/8" or 1/2"

I have a 3/8th set in my car that has been used on a surprising number of repairs and general use. A 3/8 set and a breaker bar definitely can get quite a bit done. chiz1180

Where to Get Steel Plate for Work Surfaces

If you have a good local welding shop, it would hurt to ask them. I personally would check scrapyards myself. chiz1180
