    Lets see your workbench

Thanks! Yeah I should have mounted my electrical "strip" a few inches higher...The bench sits standalone 1.5" away from the wall because of it. Thanks!! Yes I thought about the mess that will get into my reel, I left a gap when I mounted the reel to install a piece of wood or metal to catch...

    Lets see your workbench

-Finally- getting my shop near completion...Built this two weeks ago. 32" x 96", all around bench with offset shelf. The top and shelf are recessed by means of a dado blade.

Has anyone used the Home Depot grinder?

I rented the Diamondbrush, the aggressive one, on Feb 18th. It WILL grind the floor, FWIW. There are more aggressive methods/machines sure, but you can also get yourself in trouble quick if you're not paying attention. My situation was probably worse than most; half of my shop was broom finish...

    Best workbench

I'm just putting my home shop together now and built this last week. This will be my everything bench. It's 96" x 33", no nails except for the top and shelf, and the top and shelf are countersunk (dado) and corners are mitered. Shelf is offset to not interfere with a shop stool.

Travertile tile for patio - honed, polished, or tumbled? Do I seal it?

Oh yeah, travertine. I bought 12 crates of it (1850sf) so I've been a slave to travertine. Here is a project from last year. Eight weekends of making cardboard templates and taking them to the wetsaw. Repeating French pattern. I saved $7000 labor by doing it myself. You will need to seal...

How much more do I need to grind for epoxy?

A couple of comments...You know you can use water right? Or is your machine not water resistant? I just did my floor - 550sf. But half of my shop was broom finish, the other half trowel. Long story how it ended up this way but wasn't my doing. I smoothed everything out. For your floor, I would...

    Roof Pricing Per Sqr

If it will make it sound like you're getting a bargain, I paid $600/square, but that's tile...yeah apples and oranges

The darn Liftmaster MyQ Warning Beep

I have Liftmaster controls for my front gates. I like the three chirps it gives before closing via internet, but then again that's away from the house.

Help me pick the right compressor

A few points to note, in your pix the tank appears to be rated at 140 psi. Correct above on the HP vs amp rating, my Ingersol Rand (Dayton) motor made in the USA is 5 HP at 21.5A, and the USA made Ingersol Rand tank is rated at 200 psi. At minimum drain the tank and inspect; and google "air...

Help me pick the right compressor

It sounds like noise and space is an issue. I recommend 2 stage as others have said. You can talk beside them as they run. A commercial type comp will last you a lifetime in residential use, and yes it took me many months to find my deal. A new IR 5hp-60 gal vert- 2 stage for around $500. The...

    Channel Drain for Patio

I suppose that can occur if improperly installed.

    Channel Drain for Patio

It's called a Deco Drain, and it just presses in place. A concrete wetsaw will make the cut go quickly. I don't know where you are in FL, but you can't get more rain then we do here, I wouldn't think. Also, a super gutter might negate the need for a deco drain, if your patio water problem is...

    cable stuck in burried conduit

I have nothing to add that hasn't already been stated, but I have learned what nettles are this week and a whole lot about Pepcon. That little google tangent cost me an hour already...there are some loooong youtube's on that.

I need help wiring an antique fan.

Nice going! I refurbished 1 and have 2 more to do when I get 'round to it. I bought some [new] cloth wire on ebay to make the look more fitting. Mine works well , and I have had it on several hours at a time, but just can't sleep knowing it's plugged in. I keep it unplugged.
