    Need some air compressor advice

HVLP, break it down really. As said, that's high volume. Paint a fender or feathering, 30G tank will do. Paint an entire car, it just ain't going to be optimal on a small cap compressor with any sized tank. I can do motorcycle fairings just fine on a 20G but it's asking a lot of the IR...

    gel batteries?

You don't want to quick charge or use higher amperage to charge Gel batteries like you could wet or AGM batteries. I'd look up the battery charging methods to see their suggestions as they can easily differ from each composition used. Most Gel take 1A max, with nothing I've seen going over 2A...

    Cordless ratchet recommendations

I dislike them all, there, I said it. I can't assume garage talk are all those that have a built-out garage and in common use. Look, I'm in California. My avatar shows a neighbor's garage, at the time, that is just full of shelves of junk...wall to wall. There's probably a pancake can in there...

Is getting a right angle impact wrench worth it?

I gotta play devil's advocate here: Is a breaker bar not going to fit where a right angled power tool will? Give me a lever any day if so. Just 1mm of movement and I'm back to the ratchet. And Kroil of course.

Recommendation for moderately priced 120/240 volt MIG welder

As a Miller-matic 211 owner, I suggest finding a used Miller 211. We bought a Miller 215 at work and it's so much lighter to lug around and that sells me more than anything. It's a Stick/MIG/TIG unit and I'd rather have that around the property than the fuggin 211. At the time, both were about...

    Organising tools in a box

That's what I was thinking when you said "instruments", not just general tools! Multimeter do take some bashing around as they're not mechanical. I'll drop a $5K fluke from over my head and it's not going to adjust it's scale or accuracy, but I'd rather not even do that for show. They do break...

    Toolbox Organizers Cost?

Any "organizer" is expensive really. Even Rubbermade silverware organizers run about $15 which is $10 less what a Snap-On Socket rail costs. I'm going to lose the OCD around here and lose face, but "Organized" isn't the same as "Pretty and lined up nicely". Screwdrivers in this drawer, 3/8 in...

Sears Craftsman Digital Torque Wrenches thoughts?

Zero experience with that, but does seem like a Proto-type, if you will. I'd trust it for general use but not if my job depended on it. I have problems with digital torque wrenches and simply like click type still. Even the high end ones beep and give a haptic feedback, but still seems to have...

    Tekton Ratcheting Wrenches

March 10th, 2022. It's 5 months later: " Hello, I'm John Amash, the CEO of Tekton, and I wanted to share exciting developments about our US manufacturing efforts. More and more of our tools are now made in the US, through a combination of our in-house manufacturing operations and partnerships...

    Tekton Ratcheting Wrenches

There's many brands to pick from. You may be able to go to Home Depot and buy Gearwrench right now, if not...Kobalt. You may be sold on a brand, and I like the faith in it all but they're not the be all in the ideal of wanting a tool. I have a Tekton imperial/non-reversing/ratcheting/6-point...

    Cleaning tools (tools for cleaning)

Good luck brother. Buying them an electric broom isn't high on their list. That's even an 80's Andrew Dice Clay joke when he buys the dust pan. "It matches the broom I bought ya last year!" If you're brave enough, Shark are fine products. They don't need your tool brands and they for sure don't...

    which lineman pliers to get?

Klein If it has a spring, rip it out. I heard "concrete" more than electrical work.

Paint gun for newbie to paint cars?

I'd think that's good for two fenders so it might work for spot work, but no blending and all that. Seems most/many are using it for cabinets and fences? I like the "Mixed feelings" review as it's not adjustable and changes if you bump something. There's a car in it, but he primed a hood.
