I can't tell from the pics, but is there any attic space above the garage? If that is not part of your living space, cut a hatch, get a ladder and some osb and use that for storage of the stuff you rarely use (and is not too heavy).

If you are in NYC anywhere from Greenwich to Fairfield will do the trick. I'm in Easton. It's between Fairfield to the south and Monroe or Redding or Newtown to the north. I have a 4000 SF house with a 3 car attached on 3 acres. Its awesome in this town. An enclave in the burbs. No condos...

Just saying hi. Sometime Lurker, Jeep CJ DIY guy here. Recently moved to a new house with a 3 car, but its narrow at about 32 feet wide and I have 3 cars plus a work car and outdoor toys for 3 kids. This garage won't cut it. My last place had a 3rd bay that made an awesome Jeep shop, but now...
