Every time I find a nice old garage piece I head right to GJ. The sheer amount of personal experiences on here is what keeps me hooked

    Sears Roebuck Air Compressor?

Found a video on these types of motors that helped out a ton. Yeah, it's a capacitor. Starting to think I should have taken more electives in highschool haha

    Sears Roebuck Air Compressor?

I'm not very parts literate. What's this part of the motor called and what does it do?

    Sears Roebuck Air Compressor?

Doing some slight Google Dorking, I managed to dig up some old forum posts. Here's one that could help someone later down the line maybe! https://www.antiqueradios.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=283894

    Vintage Craftsman Air Compressor 283.1852

I know it's 12 years later, but I'd just like to say, wow! Found this catalog snippet while looking up my exact same one. Your "beer cooler" case is absolutely amazing to have!

    Sears Roebuck Air Compressor?

Update I seem to have stumbled upon. Maybe not from the 30's-40's but it might be from the 50's.

    Sears Roebuck Air Compressor?

Seems to be 1/2" plate the entire way around. Thinking this whole bottom part IS the tank based off of the welding. Just wondering about the Compressors info now.

The tank definitely has to be custom fabricated. Looks to be welded together thick diamond plate steel encasing whatever tank is inside it.

    Sears Roebuck Air Compressor?

Picked up an air compressor from my grandfather today. Only information he says he knows about it is that it's old haha. Been looking online for a bit and can only come up with a date range of 1930-1940's. Would really like more info, but can't seem to find any good sources online that come...

    Wilton C1 Bullet Vise

Thanks! This will be my first "Restoration" on something this large. I'm used to bringing rusted/shot adjustable wrenches back to life. This whole thing has been really relaxing, but mainly because there were no missing parts 😅 The other C1 in the garage has lead paint and I don't know how to...

All is ready and prepped for paint if and when I can find some Hammered Verde Green. Unless I get impatient and decide on my 2nd favorite " Rustoleum Hammered Silver". I'd like to have an eye catching color though, so I think I'll wait.
