None of this was even slightly necessary. :) It allows for the plates to be leveled nicely and for clamps to slide all the way front to back.
If you managed to get the top of your frame perfectly true then you wouldn't need any adjustability to have a flat surface and depending on the clamp...
You need to look at the rules for your jurisdiction to see what is allowed, but in no case that I can think of would the contractor themselves pull the permit and give it to you and let you do the work, or have someone else do it. You might find a contractor that would agree to start the...
Two threads from a few years ago that involved raising existing structures.

Just do foil backed foam panels if that is the way you are going. I think the consensus is that the foil bubble stuff is better than nothing, but worse than anything else. If you use it, it should be applied under the panels at the time you build and only useful if you are not going back and...
Got it. As I under stand it the secondary heat exchanger pulls more heat out of the exhaust creating a condition where you will always have condensation because of the colder exhaust and this is how you get to 90%+ efficiency.
My main point was that I don't know of any 90% efficiency garage...
I have a Sterling GG with separated combustion. 80% + efficiency and no separate condensate line.
The instructions show how to setup the exhaust. Stainless is required.
For a horizontal vent it has to slope to the outside and it does drip a lot. This last week created a two foot tall...
Thanks. I did post the table build in the "this could be the ultimate welding table" thread. Apparently I am stalking Tig since I originally got the welding table idea from his thread. Lurking since 2014, built my shop in 2018, will post a shop build one of these days. I try to post up...
Thanks. It was a fun project and I don't think I could break anything now without a serious cheater bar.
I could have used a full length larger pipe (except I didn't have one long enough), or there was plenty of meat on the nut to turn it down to the smaller pipe size which I did have. A...
This was my turd polishing project during lockdown in the summer.
My dad gave me this big old import vice last Christmas. It had been used briefly on the farm in the late seventies early eighties and then got buried in the back of a barn for a few decades. Being unable to find any of...
I had the version that Home Depot sells. When they work they are the best torpedo type heater I have experienced. Not too loud, great radiant output and even burning diesel they are pretty clean once warmed up.
They are sold under lots of different brand names, but I think there is only...
I showed pictures of my homemade bars and frame adapters back on post #249 in this thread. The adjustable frame adapter were a lot of work, but $545 is crazy money for what you get. 200-300 would be a lot more reasonable.
I use pixresizer. The UI is kind of dated but it works great. There are lots of other similar tools. Take a folder of pictures, select maximum width or height or both, press a button and now you have resized copies.
I've been lurking here for years enjoying the updates. I guess this is my chance to say hi.
Go ahead and bypass the oil sensor. I put a HF engine in a go-cart 10 years ago. Great engine at a great price, but the vibration and bouncing tripped the oil sensor constantly. It was bypassed...
