I was searching for a torx and hex bit socket set and this thread came up in the search. I have an older VW and an older MB, the MB is consistent with using e-torx, but the VW uses a little bit of everything for fasteners. I'm not a mechanic by trade, but have decent amount of experience...

Tool brands like Wright and SK. I grew up in Ohio, and I had never heard of Wright Tools until I started checking out these forums.

I have a set of Wiha Soft-Finish, slotted and Ph/Pz, they are the best fitting screwdrivers I have ever used, hands down. We do some antique furniture restoration which used many slotted heads (I think they should be banned...lol) and the Wihas always seem to grip/fit the slotted heads better...

Thanks for the info Macneil. I've heard great things about GW tools, but I'm looking for USA made. I think my options for a "Made in USA" 3/8 flex head without detents/locking mechanism are limited.

Thanks for all the advice. I received the shipment yesterday. I bought them from JBToolsales...in my situation(international shipping) I wouldn't use them again because it took about 3 weeks. But their prices are very competitive.

I cleaned them off with an oily rag and put desiccant in all drawers of my toolbox. The desiccant seems to be doing the trick. Thanks for the advice.
