    Reccomendation for small electric heater

I am working on upgrading electric and insulating a 16x24 (8'ceiling) detached garage. I will have 60a 220v at the sub panel, and am looking at options for a heater. Other tools are saw, vac, compressor, 110v welder... but usually no more than one at a time, or two if saw/vac. I'm in Virginia...

    Modifying garage ceiling.

Thanks that helps. Would you use a joist hanger on the double header or just nail it?

    Installing Detached Garage sub panel

Is there any compelling reason to use Copper vs Al for this 80'+/- run? Al would be 4/4/4/6 wire, I think for Copper 6g would be ok for 60a... but maybe not. If using conduit I guess I can also run individual wires, not sure if they come in Al, but not sure if there is an advantage to that...

    Modifying garage ceiling.

Thinking 3x6 or 4x6 for ease of getting the thule box up, it's only about 42" from top of rafter to peak of the roof . Have to refine the storage a bit as currently its accessible along the whole 16' length of the decking, and adding insulation/drywall reduces the accessability considerably.

    Modifying garage ceiling.

I have a 16x20 detached garage. 2x4 walls and 2x6 roof joists and ceiling joists, all 24oc. No trusses, just stick built. I have a loft "floor" in the ceiling where we keep bulky, but not heavy items (car luggage box, beach chairs, and similar) and am going to rewire and insulate the garage...

    Installing Detached Garage sub panel

The house has a 200a service. The garage is 16x20, so no need for 100a service as I wouldn't be able to fit in there if I had that much in there to draw that much. Its definitely metal conduit coming up out of the ground to the garage, I'm assuming it's all metal underground. 50-60 yr old...

    Installing Detached Garage sub panel

I have two electrical projects to work on at home. First is am going to insulate my detached garage, and wanted to upgrade the electrical beforehand. I am in central VA, building (16x20) is 75ft from the main panel and is currently fed by a 20a single circuit run thru 3/4" metal conduit. I'll...

    Wilton Utility Vise

That's what I thought, but couldn't tell on their website.

    Wilton Utility Vise

Does anyone know whether the 675 (or other utility vise sizes) has one or two lockdowns?

    Wilton Utility Vise

Thanks for the info. I missed one on ebay by an hour, but I'll still keep an eye out for a decent tradesman. Either would be an upgrade from what I have, but may wait to get a nicer vise once and be done... until my little vise can't handle another larger job and I just go get something to...

    Wilton Utility Vise

I am looking to replace my dinky little 3.5" vise that won't lock in place anymore. I was looking at the wilton utility vise 675? model number as an option or trying a Wilton 1745 that needs a bit of rehab. Does the utility vise have a pretty smooth action or will I be "happier" with the twice...
