what kind of tool chest to buy in Alberta

I got the Stanley from Costco and it's great for the money. Made in Canada, solid build, only down side is the detents kinda ****.

    Built the Kids a Fort

Very neat, that's a good idea. Kinda wish I'd planned for that eventuality.

    Built the Kids a Fort

Thanks guys, it was a fun build. My 2 year old son helped me for most of it and I'm sure it took about 50% longer because of it, but that's part of the fun. As far as the roof goes, time and material options were very limited. Enough fiberglass roofing panels were not available locally so I...

Just another heated parts washer thread. Big pic heavy!!

Very cool, may be implementing your idea.

    Built the Kids a Fort

Thanks guys. I just build it out of my head. I had a good idea of what I wanted it to look like, made sure it was totally overkill as far as sturdiness and started cutting and screwing. My brother and I were both walking around on top of the wall on one side at the same time and there was little...

    Built the Kids a Fort

Finally put my newly acquired tools to use and built my kids a fort. I'm definitely metal oriented as far as building and fabrication and as such this was my first attempt at a construction project. Still needs some finishing and have to put up a climbing wall on the right side, but being as I...

    Tools for Canadians

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'm in the bush for another 2 weeks but when I get out I'll be checking out the SO store and report back. Might look into Gray a little closer too, just got one of their 4 drawer sliding racks with bins that seems pretty nice.

    Straightening out the Car Hole

Yeah, I'm pretty happy with the boxes. The Stanley's detents are a little tight but for $800 I don't think it can be beat. I gave my daughter the bottom drawer for her tools, considering she's 6 I think she did okay.

    Tools for Canadians

Wow, I had no idea that existed. That's exactly the kind of thing I'm looking for. How are their prices?

    Tools for Canadians

Going to KMS isn't a problem, their stock usually ***** though. Just wondering if there was something else.

    Tools for Canadians

I'm in Ladysmith. I'm looking for full wrench sets as well as full sets of 3/8 and 1/2 sockets among other things but those are the main ones for now.

    Tools for Canadians

I'm in the process of replacing some of lower quality tools and am having a hard time finding quality tool options. I don't work at a shop so hunting down a truck isn't exactly convenient. There is a store about an hour and a half from me that sells Proto, and so far that seems like the most...

    Straightening out the Car Hole

Thanks guys, it's been a lot of fun. She was pretty excited about it. I drag her out there for nearly every project, so I try to keep things light and kid friendly out there. Love it. Having never used an impact driver and getting this one I'm very impressed. As far as the drill it's got...

    Straightening out the Car Hole

I got the bug to get my garage organized, and thanks to the wealth of information here I got some good ideas and got to work. I made a new 4'x6' bench, a stand for the table saw and a table for the drill to match the height so they double as another bench when the saw is not in use. A busy day...

    Show your new tool arrivals

How do you like it? I'm looking for some new grinders, something that doesn't make your hands numb after a couple hours use.
