    Vintage blast cabinets

I am thinking of looking at an old Clemco blast cabinet - model AC1818 or 2448 - I cannot tell, or another vintage ALC cabinet. They look to be very old. If cheap enough, would this be something worth working with? It looks like only the cabinets would be useful. I basically only need a small...

    Shim punch and die set

Looking for an old usable shim punch and die set. Basic is fine, I don't need a huge set. Thanks.

    Craftsman drawer liner residue removal

I will try WD-40 and try to let it soak in, otherwise I will try more Windex or maybe Purple Power. Thanks.

    Craftsman drawer liner residue removal

I bought a black Craftsman tool chest and also bought the drawer liner rolls to line it with, this stuff: http://www.sears.com/craftsman-drawer-liner-roll/p-00965502000P . I noticed after taking the shrink wrap off that the liner was a bit "wet" feeling but didn't think much of it other than to...

    Craigslist idiots.

CL seems like just an online garage sale. Always offer half of asking price, no matter how much it says "firm". They may seem like idiots but a lot of times they know how CL works. I hardly ever have good luck selling on CL unless I'm basically giving it away. Then people whine about having to...

    Wrenches and one Matco ratchet

Decided to try to unload my misc. wrenches and ratchet, maybe someone on here can use them. First is a Matco CR15 ratchet. Works fine, I just don't use it that much $30 Two 7 pc. sets of Flex head GearWrench ratcheting wrenches. I hardly have used these, none are broken or anything like that...

    Equipto parts cabinet restoration

The main rust is inside the drawers, and actually it is just rust from the hardware inside the drawers staining the drawers themselves. I almost thought about taking this to have it professionally sandblasted but it is pretty expensive for just that.

Trouble having getting Craftsman sockets replaced

This *****. I got one of those sets as a gift recently. I haven't used it too much but when I do it is nice to have. I guess I'll just buy the sockets online like normal if I break them. I have hardly used Sears to warranty stuff that small, usually I just warranty ratchets. Sockets cost me more...

Tool with no markings, how do you determine value or quality?

Nice tags. I actually have a few wrenches that look identical to my Wright wrenches, except they don't say anything except "Forged in USA" on them.

Newbie: Torque Wrench (First post. Be gentle)

I got my first torque wrenches from H-F. As suggested, get the 1/4" in. lb. torque wrench. They are pretty accurate too, as they should be. Keep it "unloaded" when storing it (loose, not set to a specific rating).

    Vintage Engine Stands

I like the look of a K.R. Wilson stand. It would probably be a proper '50s engine stand as well. Pricey if you can find them but definitely worth it to someone who knows what they are. I know it is more meant for a Flathead but I believe they do make an adapter for other engines. Here's an...

Craftsman 1/4 drive ratchets stripping out

One ratchet I have now has gotten to the point where I have to hold the switch in position in order for it to engage and not freewheel, making it a bit difficult to use. Otherwise from the ratcheting of it the switch moves out of its sweet spot and it freewheels. I had been thinking about going...

Chopping tool chest close top=drawers lock?

I wondered about this after buying my new Craftsman box. Good ideas.

Craftsman 1/4 drive ratchets stripping out

Yeah, I've noticed that about having back ups. I thought maybe somehow I was using the ratchet too hard or something. Right now my "good" ratchet is starting to strip out, unless the switch is in the right place it will freewheel. I had one warrantied once after I threw it. The ratchet they gave...
