My grandfather came from Germany to the U.S. in 1926 and began working at Chris-Craft boat company in Marine City MI as a cabinet maker. (I have two additional coffee cans of brass screws not in the pic) Found this Yankee screwdriver in his stash. Still operates like new.

I realize this is an old thread, but thought I'd post some info on what occurred when I attempted to make a cut on mine. I am unsure if the "bevel release tab" was not seated, worn, or broke. I was in the process of cutting an approximately 12" piece of 2x4, being very conscious of the blade...
