Has anyone taken car lift back out?

Good ideas Bessy. Thanks for the reply. Side entrance door and gable end door might be an option. Restricted to 10ft doors in my part of the world. Any wider its considered a commercial door and 3x times the price.

Has anyone taken car lift back out?

I could angle it to one side yes. I have thought about moving it to a 45° angle to one side. Would that work?

Has anyone taken car lift back out?

Hey GJ I have a 30x20 garage and I installed a 4 ton 2-post lift. It is straight in front of the roller door however, the door is on the side. As seen from the pictures. I have roughly 10 ft either side of roller door, this gives space for a work bench and for storage. My concern is I'm not...

Found a workbench. What to do?

I got hold of a workbench that was being thrown out of a warehouse, its made from ship hull plate and 3 inch box for the legs. The top is 9ft long by 3ft wide, and it's about 3/8 inch thick. My problem is its too big for my workshop so I'm thinking of cutting it down to 6ft and maybe narrow it...

Things to Make Workshop More Enjoyable

A very comfortable chair to sit and think on. I used to have the rear seat out of an old 4x4 mounted against the wall to sit on. Good lighting. Having worked in a garage with 1 light source it is the single most overlooked item to consider. It doesn't have to be times square but good lighting...

    Heat pad for work station

Thank you for your input guys really surprised at the feedback. Seems to me that I'm not the only one, I work on board a ship as my job involves working in the engine rooms, those rooms run about 104 upward. Out on deck could be 20 below zero easy in winter. My workshop is my solace, it's where...

    Heat pad for work station

I had a thought about a rubber matt or gym matt that could be laid in front of your workbench where you sit or stand that could have heating coil or element through it, nothing major in terms of heat but enough that in these long winter nights your bones would be warm. Any ideas or comments...

How far should garage be from house?

Mine is beside our house approx 25 feet from the pathway around our home. Seems good for turning into with big 4x4s and my wife's car. Never have to stop, reverse and take another swing if you can understand that? Hope it helps

    The M18 Random Orbital Sander

Have a corded one and I can't fault it. Just works as it should which is brilliant. Dust collection is good too. Have a cordless one just for touch ups and small applications on site or for small repair work and the battery life is impressive
