The patio project is "done" as of a couple weeks ago. We're still waiting on furniture, and I need to do something to seal or finish the pavilion structure. I'm leaning toward whitewash on the cedar, but haven't totally decided yet. We're totally in love, and can't wait until the rest of the...
A trailer valet (or diy rig) has been a consideration, but it's pretty far down the project list to be honest. I can get the trailer into the garage by myself in 2-3 tries usually. I asked for help from my wife exactly one time - lesson learned there. When the car isn't on the trailer, I could...
No real garage updates to speak of. I have hung a couple more shelf sections and continue to refine where I keep things, but it's 95% unchanged.
On the family front, we had a daughter back in August - so two kids under two years old is keeping us pretty busy. I did get the racecar out for a...
Any time I've ever had something delivered with "liftgate service", they've backed the truck right up to my garage and wheeled the item inside with their pallet jack. I haven't ever had to ask for a favor or tip the driver for that over dropping it at the curb.
This is definitely just version 1.0 of the folding top - we'll see what future revisions hold once I start to use it more.
I actually just park the truck in straight, but I three point turn into the garage - pulling toward the second door, backing up, then pulling straight into the parking...
Ok, got some slightly better pics late yesterday afternoon.
The left bay that houses the trailer and race car needs some work. I’ve moved some of the lesser used equipment between the wall and trailer, but I’m not sure that’s the best solution long term. It’s all heavy stuff that doesn’t really...
Relative to those two vehicle sizes, I might suggest two 16 foot doors, with the same overall dimensions, which would allow more walk around and storage room on the sides and between the bays.
I recognize that this isn't a great picture, but hopefully it gets the point across until I can get one with better lighting.
All in all, the size works for us. The F250 and 4Runner fit next to eachother fine on the side with the 18 foot door, though I admit I'm not super excited that my wife...
I've never seen those systems, but you're right - there is certainly a lot of appeal for not doing the up and down every year. I'm afraid in my case, the boss lady wouldn't be able to get past "Christmas lights up on the house year round" equating with hillbilly rednecks... regardless of how...
I had a few minutes in the garage this weekend. Though I didn't accomplish anything revolutionary, I did clear up a few square feet of the floor by getting my jack stands to a permanent storage location.
The smaller ones are between the garage doors and above head height, so I won't scalp...
Here's a quick pic of how I'm using the organizers. The M12 and M18 tools both fit, some of them only one way. They also have a bunch of other hook shapes, but I wanted to try these first.
I'm happy with the New Age shelves. I had two of the 8' sections in the apartment garage and moved them with us, then bought more. They're overkill for what I have on them currently, but it's nice to have extra capacity if I need it. They're pretty simple to install, too.
The tire racks came...
