The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

Okay, I'm ready to give. I've watched a half a dozen Youtube videos, tried the ground down hacksaw blade method, tried the bent screwdriver method, I've wriggled, jiggled, and iggled but I can't get those drawers to come out. The drawers seem to catch at the back of the drawer, not close to the...

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

Thanks for the replies folks. The are slides, no ball bearings. I have lots of old hacksaw blades, I'll grind one down some. The "blue" box was orange painted over. I agree, looks like a Williams. The Mac box has plenty of "patina" but I prefer the worn-in look so it will stay as is. Every mark...

The VINTAGE toolboxes of Garage Journal!

Here are a couple top boxes I picked up recently. The drawer slides will need to be cleaned up and lubricated. Anybody got an easy way to remove these drawers?

    Navy Ship Drill Press

The provenance is cool, but provenance don't drill any holes. It looks like some rough road, and for that price I would be expecting a "very good to excellent" condition machine. I am a bottom feeder by nature, so YMMV. There are so many Deltas, Craftsman, Atlas, Walker Turners that turn up...

Lets see your vintage shop work lights

Not so much young, but I have magnifiers, eye loupes and such aplenty lol. Just don't know what I'll do with a floor standing one. I use them when reading sizes of bearings.

Lets see your vintage shop work lights

Reviving this thread to add a recent addition to the tribe. A Dazor floor magnifier, Model 1410AR. Bought at a sale for $5, no real use for it but couldn't resist.

Show us your cool, "old" drill press

That press is a bit of a sad *******, but I think you have the makings of a very good machine, with some patience and persistance. That model is basically the same as the model 74 floor model, and there are many of both still around, as they are quality machines. Spare parts are relatively...

    Old Atlas Drill Press

Great job on the resto! I'd have given $15 for it in original shape, the original motors are great, and I had had several Atlas drill presses. They are quality. Love the color! Scott

1920-60s DELTA / ROCKWELL picture thread - Post your Delta!

For sure on the superior quality of that machine vs. HF, and cool provenance too. The graphics on the belt shroud need to be preserved, IMHO. Scott

1920-60s DELTA / ROCKWELL picture thread - Post your Delta!

Thanks Tarnished. The Uni was my first Delta bought in '09. I went through it with new arbor and motor bearings, rewired the 1 hp bullet motor for 220V and painted. Its my daily user. Here are some more that didn't make the first pic dump: The RAS is a Red Star 40A (pre Delta) in the queue for...

1920-60s DELTA / ROCKWELL picture thread - Post your Delta!

I'll play...can't resist a Delta woodworking machine at a reasonable price. Plus a 20A Multiplex RAS and an 1160 Tilty top table saw in the rathole.
