Almost to the end, I did some lighting work last night. Got 5 of the 9 fixtures installed and I think they look great, I like the " industrial look ". I intend to use 100 watt LED bulbs in the fixtures. If I figured right 3 fixtures will throw 4800 lumens which is the equivalent of 2 .. 4 foot...

I decided on the lighting, I am going with 9 - 14 inch barn style lights with 100 watt LED light bulbs. It will give plenty of light, probably not as good as 4 foot LED strips but I like the look of the lights a lot better. Pics to come in a couple weeks .....

99% done other than some trim work around ceiling. Happy with outcome even thought it was a ton of work. Its done, no taping, painting etc, I will have insulation blown in before next winter, hook up gas heater and big screen and I am living large .... LOL ....:thumbup::thumbup:

I shot 5 to 6 braids per truss on an angle, I would be surprised if they pulled thru. If they do I will go over it with # 10 ... 2 inch. That's what is nice about rustic, you cant make it look bad ...... I just posted 2 more pics, the ceiling is about 90% done, it has been a big job. It looks...

Its a big job, but it sure looks nice. Nailing it With 2 inch 18 gauge brad nails. Solid as a rock. Will have insulation blown in. Dont need any more ladder time hanging insulation. More to come ...

How much is finished drywall, taped and painted per square foot ?

It is OSB backer with a rough saw look on the face, primed in a beige color, for me my garage is brown so I don't need to paint. A lot cheaper than drywall, and no finishing. Using lap siding for garage ceiling .... I am just getting started on installing the ceiling in my new garage. It is 26 x 40. I am putting up 3/8 by 12 by 16 lap siding for the ceiling. Here is some starting pics, more to come.

I am getting started this weekend on doing the ceiling. Using 3/8 by 12 inch by 16 foot lap siding. Will give it a nice rough sawn look, I will post picks as I get them. I have a friend who did this to his garage, man does it look nice and cheaper than drywall. More to come ...........

That's right, the labor side to stand it up and roof it was $2500.00 labor. Job complete with flat work, doors, stain, windows ready to turn the key $23,800.00 ...

I subbed it all out, I could have built it but it would have taken me a month of Sundays. My flat work guy referred me onto a guy that brought a crew of 4 out for 3 days and $2500.00 dollars later it was up and roofed. Money well spent .... Passed inspection the first look .... These guys great...
