Rotar did make, and probably still make, a lot of the Kobalt stuff. I haven’t kept up with Kobalt for awhile, but I’m sure not much has changed.

I have a massive Columbian 608. 8" jaws, weighs right around 200 lbs., lead screw is pretty close to 36" long and I'm guessing 1-3/4" round, and even then the handle is only around 24" long. If the handle truly is 36" long, it's got to be massive!

The Proto XL's might just be the most under appreciated ratchets on the market. Very smooth and strong, and not bad to look at either.

Nobody has mentioned the old Task Force stuff. When I was a kid it was the bottom of the barrel. Even as a 10 year old kid trying to tighten the chain on my bicycle, my taste for quality exceeded Task Force's ability to deliver.
