Thank you for the added tip; would putting washers on both sides defeat the purpose of lock washer/nuts as they would allow them to vibrate/twist off freely? Sorry to hear about what happened to your car... we haven't parked a car in the garage yet until we get these secured for that exact...

Oh god... thank you!!! I haven't been getting much sleep w/ a new baby in the house; I looked at it a number of times and kept reading it the same way... Thanks for clearing this up for me; I would probably be stuck on this for another few days before giving up...

The existing hex bolts holding our garage door opener to the hanging track is missing nuts, so it's all hanging by the threads, literally... (the bottom left of attached photo shows the existing bolt in place w/o existing nut). I measured the diameter of the openings and have not had any luck...
