Could it be in Demo mode? I had one that would light and turn with no heat, somehow it got put in Demo mode - that is used for in-store demonstrations. The clock had a "d" next to the time. I was about to throw it out when I saw in the manual that the "d" meant Demo mode. Had to hold 2 buttons...
No, I think around here you get one freebie. The police were not at all annoyed and they said it was great that the alarm monitor company told her not to go inside.
Also, I asked them what will they do if we set the alarm off and we accidentally tell the alarm company the "duress" code word...
I installed my own system and have had it monitored by AlarmRelay for 4yrs now, I highly recommend them. When we have accidentally set it off, they have always called for verification within 15sec. Once when a motion sensor falsed while we were both away, after calling the house and getting no...
My ridge vents must not be open enough - I can see plenty of daylight coming thru the soffit vents, but this is what I measured in the attic while installing recessed lights this weekend! NOT comfy work...
Hope this sounds clear: Put an outlet in the cabinet, in line above the existing outlet, wired down thru the wall to the switch you add to the existing outlet. Plug the fixture into the new (switched) outlet.
That's really clever and good looking. Only thing I would add is something to keep the bottom of the bottle from sliding out - another tie down lower, or just a tab welded on the diamond plate...
Such low voltage is likely not a problem. I had something of the opposite problem at our previous house. 80V instead of 110V on a ceiling light. Found a staple in the attic hammered thru the wire partly shorting it, looked original to the house from 1958. Had been that way over 40yrs when I...
Excellent suggestions, will check lumber yard for massive stuff and stain it dark for contrast. I had been thinking of a frame covered with plywood for a solid appearance, but I like the traditional workbench support better. Thanks!
Appreciate the comments - I should give a little more background... when my Dad inherited the workbench, he wanted to keep it in the house as furniture, since he already had his own (non-classic) workbench in the garage. My brother gave it many thick coats of gloss poly and my Dad made the base...
Cyberbear, thanks for the input. I'm having trouble picturing what you did, but sounds like you doubled up 4x6s into 6x8s, that would look nice and massive! A pic of that would be great!
This was my grandfather's work bench that he bought new in 1920 or so. My brother polyurethaned it in the 70s. I want to use it as a bar top in my basement. Looking for ideas for a suitable base! Something to raise it to correct bar height and look appropriate. My woodworking skills are not...
