Am I the only one who hates multi-mode flashlights?

I like this series--I'm sure you know there are three types. Of course the single output Tactical like yours with 600 lumens. The Pro has 15 lumens on the first click--another click within two seconds and the light produces 600 lumens. The Law Enforcement is just the opposite; 600 lumens on...

Which M18 impact wrench for on-road tire changes?

I don't know if it's a regional thing but a couple of weeks ago I got an M18 mid torque, two 6 volt XC batteries and charger for $299. Internet only deal, free delivery to my house. From Home Depot. The same deal still shows up on this link for me, but it might be regional. If it isn't it's...

I know this ISN'T Candlepower Forums, but I know there are flashlight fans here.

That's a good explanation. I don't need a flashlight powerful enough to sterilize small animals at 50 paces. I need one that'll work after I drop it down a flight of wood or concrete stairs, step on it, otherwise abuse it in ways apparently only I can come up with. Made in USA and general...

    The Milwaukee addiction thread! :)

I think you're right. Another consideration is that it's a nice to have convenience thing rather than something I really need. I'll just keep my eyes open for a sale because Home Depo wants 90 bucks just for the bare tool. I'm leery of the deal on Amazon because it appears to be a 3rd party.

    The Milwaukee addiction thread! :)

Thanks for responding, but I'm OK on batteries. I'm just interested in the bare tool.

    The Milwaukee addiction thread! :)

I've got a 2401-20 M12 hex screwdriver that goes in my bag with my impact driver and drill. I'd like another to leave on the cart I use for working on vehicles and other mechanical stuff, for driving fasteners and running off/up nuts and bolts using a 1/4 hex to 1/4 square drive adapter. I...

I know this ISN'T Candlepower Forums, but I know there are flashlight fans here.

I got a Surefire GX2 Pro a couple of years ago. I'm tough on things (what I am is clumsy and drop stuff) and I've gone through a few flashlights. Like all Surefire lights it's tough, with a polymer body, aluminum lamp housing, solid feeling switch. Nothing fancy, 2 settings, 15 and 600...

The best scissors for cutting gasket material?

It's been a while since I made a gasket. When I did I used the ball peen hammer method. But it's always been on cast iron stuff--is it a viable technique on aluminum components since they're so much softer?

That's the first Japanese made "D Wrench Kit" I've seen. Here are a couple of Bell/ATT docs describing the kit and its purpose:

2024 Garage Sale Thread (13th Annual)

In case nobody else has mentioned it, the level looks like it might be a Starrett. The name would be stamped in small letters on the chromed inset holding in the spirit vial. The japanning will probably clean up nicely.

This ohmmeter appears to be unused. The leather case is almost without scuffs and scratches, and the chassis of the meter itself is pristine. The leads are still supple and without cracks. The crimped on terminals appear to be newer than the meter itself. There's no manufacturer labeling...

Yep--the first nice tools I bought for myself was a Proto socket set and it came with that ratchet--and a bigger red box. It would have been sometime in the 80s. That little ratchet's been a workhorse.

I put my little brain to work and took a screen shot of the AT&T document regarding the D Wrench Kit. Also attached is a photo from a Fakebook Marketplace listing of what appear to be NOS tools, including Crescent pliers and cutters and what he calls "Proto D Wrench Kit(s)", all in the box...
