what u guys think of this as a garage ???

Agreed! I've got a 16' opening on my garage and you can barely open the doors to either car if both are parked in there. If you can afford it, have the space and it won't look bad, then get the largest you can. You'll always find stuff to fill it up.

Don't see a whole lot of peg board....

autoist - That is one awesome Texaco sign. It also looks like a real workshop where real work is done. I only wish I had that kind of space :-(

    Insulating a "utility closet"

I agree with johnny o and you should check the manuals or mfg recommendations. Just because it was installed, doesn't mean it was done correctly. Maybe it's me, but I'd want the reassurance. Also, if you are going to pull the water heater so you have room to work, I'd install a drain pan (and...

    Did You Feel it

I thought I felt the building sway just a bit. I'm in SSF so it could have also been a guy with a heavy cart going down the hallway too...

Strange question, don't crucify me please

If you have cable or satellite, I'd try using that 1st unless you also want to play movies out in the garage as well - Top Gear anyone? I've got my TV hooked up to an Apple TV and stream music, photos and movies to it. You could also do this with Boxee or XBMC. If it's just music, then an...

    Griot's Garage Products

Derek that's good to hear and sounds like what I have in my car cleaning boxes. BTW - I'd be a happy camper if you guys made your bottles narrower at the bottom and wider at the top so they didn't eat up as much space in a storage box.

Design is 95% done (Garage / bonus / mudroom)

It looks like your garage is a single story, so if the budget doesn't allow you to add the 2nd story I'd recommend you look at what type of trusses are used for roof support. We have W trusses over our garage that are so close it makes it really difficult to use it for any kind of storage.

    Insulating non isulated garage door

I just replaced a wooden door that was "smiling" (warped badly on either side letting in the mice and other critters) about 2 weeks ago with a new Wayne Dalton metal door that is insulated. I did the insulated door since we open/close the door to the garage quite a bit and it's attached to the...

    Griot's Garage Products

I've used Griot's products for the past 5+ years on a wide variety of cars - Camry, Tahoe, Volvo, BMW 330 and M3, and Porsche. The liquids, microfiber, etc. and other tools seem to be very well researched, the products work well together and the customer service has always been excellent. I've...

    Got the ORANGE Stripe up...

Great colors and looks like you won't see the marks on the lower sections of the walls that easy. But, the traffic light is excellent! Does it work?
