Craftsmen USA - what am I missing here?

Its no different than collecting cars, specific brand of X woodworking or machining tool, guns, 1970s sears merry mushroom (check out the prices of some of those rarer pieces on Ebay like the cafe curtains at $200+), clothes (did you know some early 2000's brands are now fetching 100's on Ebay...

Was it normal that these tilt table saws had guards that were chopped off at the factory or is that "aftermarket" where someone buys a guard for a jointer/bandsaw and chops it off themselves? Ive seen that across a few tilt top saws on FB/CL and always assumed it was a aftermarket mod.

Hoorn I have the "Tornado" model sitting on my shelf disassembled waiting for a rebuild. I think I just need a 6x48 belt sander to motivate me to actually finish it. On another note, I picked up this 6" jointer - 10" tilt table saw a few weeks ago for some parts and it came with a nice bonus -...

Great score, thats the first I've heard someone running the sale to use AI to price their items. It will put a whole new age of "Ebay pricing" at yardsales if it catches on. Did you also pick up the 6x48 belt sander cover thats on the wall to the left? Those are also somewhat difficult to find...

My guess is that the guard was purchased separate and was overstock? GeoBruin thats a beautiful mill and a unique add to this thread. There are so many industrial machines Delta made that we rarely see. A huge amount of their "home" line or small production shops but very rarely "big" machines...

@Hoorn @Tarnished and other 14" bandsaw owners. I'm starting to plan out the restoration job for the 14" bandsaw, checking to see what I need and ordering ahead of time, and reading through all the manuals Delta/Rockwell never mentions using anything larger than a 1/2 HP motor being used (except...

1725 RPM 1 HP Motor and Fence for a Delta 14" Bandsaw

Looking for a 1 HP 1725 RPM motor for a Delta MIlwaukee 14" Bandsaw. Prefer a motor that is pre-Rockwell International blue tag for period correctness but open to anything that is pre-triforce Delta. RI or capacitor start is okay. Also looking for a fence for the same 14" bandsaw (example below).

Just realized the motor badge didnt upload so here it is. As for the bandsaw wheels a little more in depth aearch revealed that the two styles of wheel are period correct for cast iron wheels.

@Hoorn @Tarnished Serial number pegs it to 1946. Almost reached its 80th birthday! The shop made retirement light is of decent make but has definitely suffered abuse over the years. As for the motor, its a 1/2HP B-line... Which is interesting considering this saw has the riser block on it I...

1920-60s DELTA / ROCKWELL picture thread - Post your Delta!

I'm still working on building the shop but had occasionally kept an eye on FBMP and craigslist. After many years of searching I finally was able to get my hands on this delta 14" wood/metal cutting bandsaw for $200. Everything works including the transmission but I plan to give it a full strip...

    File handles deserve respect, too!

The cast iron ones are top tier. I have 4 of them and Ive found them all in the least likely of places. Even found one half buried in the dirt inside a shed and only recognized it from the pattern. That File-Eze is definitely unique and looks like its original intent was for body work?

    17th Annual GJ Secret Santa!

I'm so glad you enjoyed the goodies and the lobster and that everything arrived safe and sound! I had considered packing some fresh tortillas that were made the morning of but thought they wouldnt be as good 4 days later. I didnt realize it would take so long to get to you so good thing I didnt...

    17th Annual GJ Secret Santa!

I always tell my wife and family about how fun these GJSS are and how much I enjoy finding out what my victim wants and what my SS finds out about me. My tormentor, BrandonV, absolutely crushed it this year and really twisted my arm! Looking at his earlier comment there is a very high likelihood...
