    Finally getting my shop built

So it has been 19 months since I first posted. A few updates to post. Electrical is done and bought off. Compressor room got built and new compressor in. Picked up a Rotary 2 post lift a few years ago for a song when Dealerships were closing down. Got it installed. It was a bit gross and...

    Finally getting my shop built

When we bought our place in 2005 it cost us $394,000. House was 10 years old at the time, 1800sqft, 4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths. With housing market right now I'd be lucky to sell it for $340K. :( Slab was supposed to be 4", but ended up being closer to 5".

    Finally getting my shop built

First I had to have our septic pumpline re-routed as it was running directly under where the building was going. A long wait from February 2010 when we signed the contract to September when the permits were finally issued. Let the dirt work begin. Materials getting delivered...

    Finally getting my shop built

I've been waiting 5 long years to start this thread. Wife and I bought our current place almost 6 years ago, 2.5 Acres with plenty of room and plans to build a shop. Since the day we moved in I've been planning, staking, getting bids, re-planning, etc. I was beginning to think this dream was...

    Looking for pics of 40x36

Been lurking here since day one, dreaming and planning for my future shop build. I really want to go 40x60, however, cost is squashing that dream. Leaning toward a 40x36 to get started with plans for expansion later. Looking for some pictures of 40x36 buildings to get an idea on...

    Another Newbie dropping in.

Hey all. I bounce around to all kinds of message boards, don't do a whole lot of posting unless I actually have something to add to the topics or have a question. Linked over here from the HAMB. Since I am in the planning stages of building a shop I check in frequently to see what's going on...

Anybody use socket systems / lumber link style timber frame?

I am seriously considering using Socket Systems as well. I have gone so far as to buy the field manual so I can get more info. Still wasn't as detailed as I had hoped. For those that have gone with Socket Systems what did you use for plans? Where did you get them? Any problems with your...

Another Socket Systems build, or two...

New to the board and in the planning stages of my shop. I came across quite a few posts on other boards about Socket Systems, ease of use, quality product, customer service, etc. I orderd the field manual prior to making any decisions on which route to go. Have you gotten your brackets and...
