    Best Hex / Torx sockets?

The only type that will have as good as PB perhaps a little better fit when proprietary Torx is being used will be Wiha. I've tried a good few.

Is cheater pipes on bolt cutters okay or no?

Modern bolt cutters in sizes 12"-42" will almost ALWAYS have the stock sizes range it can cut for soft stock and hard stock. Both hard and soft will have a HRC Rockwell range. Softer stock U can cut slightly larger than harder stock. Just read the specs that are etched into jaws or stamped into...

Klein tools new wide jaw d509-8

I just bought a Klein 500-18 or 18" adjustable. I so hope it'll be an Irega when it turns up. I know Klein offers some cheaper box store consumer sets of adjustables that may be out of Asia. I know it's an old ancient thread but I appreciate the info.

You did a wonderful job. Congratulations 👏 I know it's only time & a little skills but what many would see as trash became treasure again.

    Tools of Japan

Nice, and tbh I mainly wanted them for my little 10.8v Makita impact for around the house. I've made a 'All Japanese' toolbox for around the house. The main sizes I really need are 8/10/12/13/14 so those 5pc sets are neat. I'm not sure how often when dealing with 21 or 24mm fastener I'd want to...

    Tools of Japan

You can buy singles in the sizes they skip. Only problem with that is the cost of two singles is the same as the 9pc set 🤦‍♂️. There ok when bought on sale but if your into Japanese tools, either buy the Vessels you KNOW are Japanese made or get the KTC's or what I think is the ticket is the Top...

    Tools of Japan

Yeah thanks for checking yours, I'm not sure what the exact story is whether they have switched to China for these or produce in Both countries perhaps for Domestic market and Export. Mine came from AmazonAU but came from Japan warehouse as they took like 10 days to arrive. The quality as I...

    Belzer tools?

Belzer made some of the highest quality hand tools I have ever seen. While quite unknown I'm pretty sure in the early 20th century they invented the prominent tool steel still overwhelmingly used today. Chrome Vanadium. They made aerospace grade tools too and often had BELZER Chrome Vanadium...

    Tools of Japan

I had some concerns prior to purchasing these Vessel nut setters. I wasn't sure despite being Vessel that they were Japanese made. I knew the short version 5pc set packaging it said made in Chyna. But a fellow in this thread a little bit ago assured me the bigger Long 9pc set he just purchased...

    Tools of Japan

Interesting the Asahi Lightool wrench set above has the modern 'off corner engagement' design in the box end but the single box end ones don't. They must be an older style or something. Maybe NOS. But very nice tools & pics thanks for sharing!!

    Knipex quality issues

I think the OP done well to have so many broken Knipex that look lightly used. I have 20+ of their pliers dating back to over ten years old and other than wear, I've yet to have a failure. I wouldn't be concerned with Knipex, they have been on top of their game for many decades.

    Tools of Japan

I remember as a kid my friend's father had a furniture factory and we would take the grey Toyo style Makita tool boxes that new Makita tools came in. Beautiful pressed steel boxes with latches and handle. Basically identical to this T-410 except there would be some little metal brackets inside...

    Tools of Japan

Love myself a new Japanese made tool, these small 12 inch yet quite capable bolt cutters exceeded my expectations in quality. For hard wire they are only rated to cut 5mm. They have both adjustments for the jaws, really smooth action. Might get the 18" set too.

    Micro Drill Bits

If U buy a cheaper online metric chynese set, do have your calipers there to verify your using the correct size. They usually go up in 0.05 increments. A 10pc set may start at 0.3mm then 0.35 then 0.40 etc They cheaper ones can be ok and are often more like a reamer than a drill. If U go to far...
