Do you need to replace the ducts in the old central unit. Between myself and friends I am aware of 4 central AC replacements and none changed ducting. The installers just made up and adapter to connect the indoor unit to the existing duct.
looks to me like those trusses are built from 2x4s. Also the pitch of the roof is pretty shallow so not a real strong triangle. In a previous house I had an extra bay added on w/ similar trusses. While it was being built I cut a piece of 1/2" osb in half lengthwise and set the pieces in the...
How tall are the existing walls? I am trying to figure out how much volume you would be cutting out of the existing by putting in a ceiling. IE if the existing walls are 16ft and you drop the ceiling to 12ft then you are reducing the volume you need to heat or cool significantly. OTOH, even if...
I ended up making a vision fence out of 6ft chunks of tree trunks about 20 ft into the woods. I had already hidden as many root balls behind trees as I could and had to hide the rest.
I think I like 2 the best but have a Q. Is the scissor lift you are thinking of the type that you drive over the two lift pads? If you drive over it would you be better off not recessing it so you can move it as needed? IE if it were in position one, could it simply be driven over to use the...
I like to see a guy who doesn't just blindly accept whatever the manufacturers sell. Who knows what their customer surveys told them but it didn't work for you so you fixed it. That looks good to me.
Well of course you are correct. But this is what the licensed mitigation company did and what the buyers accepted so I was happy to get the problem solved and the house sold.
You could also put glass in the man door. The kind w/ what looks like chicken wire imbeded in it. Otherwise I agree w/ MovingAlong, as I have had to tape my garage door windows over a few times to cut the glare.
Mold was discovered in a house we were selling. My fault. I didn't know enough to make sure to keep the plastic taped and sealed. The official fix was mold encapsulation paint, good plastic well taped and sealed to the foundation and an additional vent in the block foundation. There were already...
As long as you have a way to let the columns down from vertical w/o injury, and a way to do the reverse at the new place, I'd take it along. A new one will probably be double what you paid for the existing one and you still need to either install DIY or pay the seller to install on top of the...
I have a mini-ex (Kubota KX71-3S for reference) and have dropped about a dozen trees over the last 2years. One thing to note is the tracks destroy any grass they run over. I usually end up w/ about a 10ft diameter disc of dirt after the stump and root ball are out. There are a couple I couldn't...
