Brass tag Beverly "B2A" Shear. Prewar?

It’s just a tick over 2.5” wide. I guess for as old as this unit is, it’s in great condition. I sandblasted multiple layers of paint off, and knocked down a little casting flash and bondo’d up a couple small imperfections but as is it’s pretty nice. I think I paid 2-300 at auction and picked it...

Brass tag Beverly "B2A" Shear. Prewar?

I just finished painting my B3 shear I purchased at auction, was trying to see about grease during re-assembly and noticed mine had a square brass tag, and not the traditional humped up one I saw then found this thread. So are the rectangular brass tagged units all way older?

Clausing 20 Variable speed pulley removal

Thanks everyone for the help. Beat the piss out of the motor today to get access to the shaft, to cut it(which was awful) then set the pulley end down on a 1 1/4” socket and beat the shaft back through it. Came out after a couple good swings with my deadblow ball peen. I’ll be polishing...

Clausing 20 Variable speed pulley removal

RJ. Thanks for the tip about the heat, you can actually see the black coating, but I didn’t even think about it. The motor is really of no use, a 460V motor and it’s not worth trying to resell. I guess I’m just concerned about where I can push and pull on this pulley, without destroying it. Do...

Clausing 20 Variable speed pulley removal

I took the motor apart. Wonder if I can hulk smash the end plate for better access. Maybe use a bearing separator plate under the bottom and a press possibly

Clausing 20 Variable speed pulley removal

This is what I’m looking at. I removed 1 setscrew. I don’t see anything else holding it on.

Clausing 20 Variable speed pulley removal

Any pics are appreciated. I’ve really never been able to find any manual on the drill press. I did soak the end in kroil, May need to do it the the other way as suggested. The replacement motor is just a straight shank 7/8” shaft.

Clausing 20 Variable speed pulley removal

I bought this really nice Clausing 20 variable speed drill press off an industrial auction site. $180 after fees. It came equipped with a 460v motor, which is being replaced by a Baldor M3607 1.5 horse motor. I’ve looked and looked and really can’t find any guidance on pulling a variable speed...

1 Gal Sherwin Williams Champion Green Paint

I have 1 gallon of Sherwin Williams Urethane Alkyd Enamel, in a custom mix of Champion Green, for an air compressor I was going to restore. I sold the compressor and bought a brand new one so I don't need the paint. Come pick it up in Northern KY or Cincinnati for free. I may dip out a quart or...

    Help with Industrial Oven wiring

I took a bunch of pictures last night of everything, I just need to get them uploaded to photobucket so I can post them. The motor is wired with 2 red wires on the left side of the box. I'll have to pull the cover and check the wires against the 120 vs 240 wiring terminations. The thermostat...

    Help with Industrial Oven wiring

I believe that tag just described how to adjust the temp settings but I'll snap a pic. You say the control and indicator light is incomplete? You mean from the outside? The only thing cut out is the main switch it says off/auto. I don't see any voltage markings on the contactor but I'll look.

    Help with Industrial Oven wiring

Not that I can find. The other thing that makes me curious if I'm missing something is there is an open conduit port on the bottom of the housing, well 2, I 1" npt for what I assume was the main power, and the one in the bottom, probably 1/2" npt with nothing in it either. Any other holes are...

    Help with Industrial Oven wiring

I wonder if I can just buy some extra wire and utilize my dryer plug. I guess the thing that I'm getting stuck on, is where I assume each of the black wires gets 120 volts, as well as the red wire that is wire nutted. But where is the return? Like I said I think I have a decent understanding...
