If it's under the vehicle, 1/2".....under the hood, 3/8"....in the interior, 1/4" That said I still drive older iron, once I have to move into something with all those covers over the engine I will add more 1/4" to the equation. My complete(inherited) set of Snap-On SAE 1/2" sockets and wrenches...
