Another thing that works for that task is "scrunchies" - those are the elastic bands that ladies use to tie up their hair (for anyone who isn't familiar with the term). Swipe them from the lady(ies) in your life at your own risk tho!
Probably better/safer to just go buy some of your own -...
I think Motul Gear 300 smells kinda ****; I remember liking a Red Line gear oil too, can't remember which one it was tho.
Cheap gear oils are what make you gag (looking at you, Coastal...)
Damn - you're right. No wonder my hat stopped working -- it wasn't grounded!! It's my own fault, it's a well known issue:

Excuse me while I go look for a copper grounding stud so I can "stick it someplace deep...
Yes!! Exactly like that. I read about them on Garage Journal so I know they're awesome; I'm making one right now for myself. But I'm going to wear it on my head because the tin foil doesn't seem to be working for me any more...
Just need to find a 5 mile-long piece of wire so I can stay...
Congrats on your green card, and also your new tools. This line on the envelope the card came in seemed a little freaky tho: "We recommend use of this envelope to protect your new card and to prevent wireless communication with it." I thought, who the hell is sending messages to people's...
HF needs to step up and sell at least the basic Icon stuff (sockets, wrenches) open stock; the stores I've been in have plenty of room, they can steal some footprint from the racks of $3 tarps and things like that. Then I can stop mourning the demise of Sears!
Tekton has a number of sets but this looks similar:

I have nothing against HF but I think I'd take the Tekton.... (even tho granted it's twice the price)
Here are the tools I sent my niece to college with -- it was a little different situation from your niece tho because mine was already a junior, was going to be living in an apartment, and had a ****** car that she had paid $5000 for (and may have overpaid lol). It gave us a few chances to do a...
I have one of these:
https://vipertoolstorage.com/product/18-inch-2-drawer-18g-steel-mini-chest-with-lid/
It's a little bigger than the mini-toolboxes being discussed, but of course it costs a lot more too. I used to keep impact sockets in it, but then I got more impact sockets and more &...
Nice work 3car -- glad you worked it out and I have to say I learned a lot from this thread; haven't ever broken a tap but that's because I almost never do any tapping. Hopefully some of the info here sank into my head in case I ever do!
One of the things I learned about by chasing a link...
