My opinion is to go as large as you can fit in the window so you can cool it down fast. I have a slightly smaller garage than yours. It's insulated, but in the summer it gets up to around 92 degrees with the AC off. I have a 5,000 BTU window unit, and it takes FOREVER to cool down the garage...
