    Garage Heater Thermostat Confusion

Yes. It will stay on high or low whichever one you have selected anytime it turns on to heat

    Garage Heater Thermostat Confusion

That's a cool idea. But would involve opening up the heater itself to break the h leg and interrupt with a relay, plus tearing walls back apart to run an additional t-star wire. I'm happy with how it came out and it's working great. Thanks again everyone

    Garage Heater Thermostat Confusion

Just wanted to update everyone that I got it working. I appreciate all the help. I'll include a picture of the diagram I made on my set up. I'm using a 24v Honeywell smart thermostat and I also have a fan that helps circulate the air controlled by the thermostat.

The Aube is a transformer and a relay. So it should cover both things I need in one

    Garage Heater Thermostat Confusion

There is no 240 coming through the thermostat wires. They are 16awg and can't be used as a power source. They can only be used on a mechanical thermostat that complete the connection to close the relay back in the heater. That Aube counts on you running a parallel circuit though it to power a...

    Garage Heater Thermostat Confusion

I was thinking of using a normal 24 thermostat that self powered with one of those wall wart plugs with built in transformer to power the thermostat and then a 24v coil/120v relay and have the thermostat power the relay and it would just take the 16awg wire in the C and out the NO on the relay...

    Garage Heater Thermostat Confusion

My apologies. It's a Dr Infrared Heater 7500-Watt 240-Volt, Model #DR-975 No neutral was required for the wiring. It was 8/2 Romex off of a 2 pole 40amp breaker, So two #8 hots and a ground. I can run a separate circuit off of an outlet near where I want to add the thermostat but I don't know...

    Garage Heater Thermostat Confusion

I recently installed a 240v 7500w heater and it works great but the internal thermostat is hit or miss. It has the option to use an external thermostat but that's where it get's tricky. It says to use their mechanical style line voltage thermostat. I wanted something nice as the mechanical ones...
