I switched cords with same results. Could it possibly be the electronic switch module? Is there any way of testing that module? I looked up the part and it shows as discontinued (part #14-20-0270). If it is that module why would it run when I hook up wires bypassing the switch.

I have a model 6508 sawzall that I was using the other day. I set it down for a second to take a phone call and when I picked it back up it wouldn't come back on. I replaced the brushes and springs, cleaned the armature, did a continuity check on the power cord and bought a new switch but...

I bought 2 pumps off of Amazon, can even add a 5 year warranty for $4.99. Pumps were around $80.
