BTW, build looks amazing so far. I loved the little dozer build to. I would love to make all sorts of mini toys like this. Unfortunately by the time I get around to doing all of it the kids will be grown up and moved out.
Bummer. I am to late to the party. I have a 2wd comanche that has that beam front end you want.
Need anything else jeep? I have lots of stuff. Why not make it 4wd?
So your getting that nice of a finish on bare steel with foam brush? or chip brush? I think I need to switch paints. how long does that take to harden before you put final coat on?
Thanks guys. This may still be an option. The last couple years I have just been running garden hose from house to sprinkler in the garden. I put a mechanical timer on the faucet and set it for 15 minutes then go back in the house. works ok. Only issue I really have is remembering to move the...
yup. that is in the future when I need it. I am going to make a break for 48" long sheet metal. unfortunately I have very high expectations and want it capable of bending 16 gauge stainless.
I am familiar with swag. my brake was made from spare steel I had laying around. it was quite a bit...
My brake is a home made press brake. it is 13" wide and fits into my 12 ton HF press. Works great. I can stall the jack on big stuff but usually bends what I want. Biggest issue is when I have something longer than 13". One it will not fit between the uprights on the press two I have to bend a...
When you hit that with the tipping die does it bend pretty easy by hand? I can easily make a tipping die and machine. but my homemade brake is only 13" wide.
Wonder how well that would work on 3/16 or 1/8" material? I rarely ever work with sheet metal usually 1/8" or thicker.
it absolutely will change the torque!

It is a bigger pain when the axle wrap is enough to just mushroom all the bolt heads on the yoke. This makes changing a broken driveshaft in the middle of the desert much more challenging :)
traction bars aka anti wrap bars.
Used with leaf spring suspensions. keeps the rear axle from wanting to rotate the pinion on hard accel and decel.
Extreme cases you can get enough axle wrap to max out the u-joint and break it or break the yoke when it bottoms out. Plus it allows more power...
That came out really nice. I bet your gonna wish you did a counterbore for the bolts the first time you try to take it off.
Go ahead, ask me how I know :)
The allen heads will get squished then you will need to use vice grips to remove them.
How thick is the steel on the bucket? How did you form it. I have a friend that wants me to build him a ditching bucket.
I really like your idea for attaching the thumb. I was going to make a thumb that bolted to the arm.
