Really hoping that you somehow confirmed that the Portable Calibrator was in spec/calibrated. Not a big deal for 3.5digit DMMs (the calibrator would have to be MASSIVELY out of spec for it to matter for those), but absolutely for anything precision. Hence my joking comment above about a bench...

No, mine was more square-ish, still rectangular but 2 lines of text. Same silver plate riveted on (and a rope handle, as the leather apparently died before I got it).
