The last I heard the clean up of this spill was up in the mid 6 figures.

I work for a environmental and industrial service company and deal with mercury on a regular basis. As others have said the vapors are the biggest hazard and as they have also suggested contact your local authorities for help in disposing of it. Hopefully they have household hazardous waste...
New cars seem to take increasing large and often odd amounts of oil. The Cadillac SRX we had required 7.5 quarts of full synthetic. That meant buying 8 quarts at a costs of $55-65 depending on the oil. Throw in a decent filter and you're at $70+ or more.
I couldn't agree more. There are somethings I am willing to do myself and others just aren't worth my time. The perfect example is changing the oil in my wife's Toyota Sienna. At $75 with the dealer ship actually charges about the same or a little more to change the oil and rotate the tires...
The funny thing about this thread (and a lot of others) is that I was in a Sears Hardware store not more than a hour ago and every hand tool I looked at from hammers to wrenches to screwdrivers said Made in the USA. It is sad when someone can't even change a tire but I can't blame folks not...

Wait, you are telling me these board members get compensated for their time? Man I feel cheated having served on our town's board of zoning appeals for most of the last 10 years as a volunteer. Of course we have much much lower application fees too...$125.
I honestly don't see any reason they...
