I have been in many garages in many sizes and have yet to see these extra small bracing walls. That must be just that designers design and or oppinion on design?

My dads neighbor just had his garage raised, the guy that did it braced it and jacke it up and put heavy beams under it. When they jacked it up to the heigth they wanted they blocked it up. Then a mason came in and laid 4' of block and then let the garage back down and bolted it to the block.

If its an uncoated plain concrete floor why worry at all? Just rinse it with water and baking soda and be done with it.

Clean the floor with muratic acid and wash with water. Let it dry and just paint with a floor enamel in whatever color you want. I prefer battleship grey and just touch it up every other year. It looks good, doesnt cost alot and I am not afraid to drop stuff on it or worry about welding and...

I know of people that do it that way and never have they ever had water problems in the buildings they built SOme may say its overkill but its better to do it now and then wish you had done it later.

If they are reasonable you may be able to get a variance and go bigger and closer to lot lines.

New block at Menards is right around a $1 a block. You cant clean sort and haul old block for that. Just buy new block and start building right away instead of taking a very long time to sort clean and haul old block.

Yoour going to have alot of time in cleaning up the block not to mention hauling it and sorting thru it that in the end the effort is gonna cost you more than just buying new block in the first place.

Why wont insurance let you have a corn burner? How did they find out about it? I would just leave the corn burner in.
