    Tools from the old world

Used to have an almost complete set of these component handle Gedore drivers until I sold them to a friend. Quality screwdrivers but I didn't care for the squareish handle shape. The shape is very good for high torque though. The OEM for this driver is Oplast or Unior I think. The latest...

    Tools from the old world

Gedore K1900-018 hand operated impact driver. 1/2" drive, manganese phosphate finish, 8mm bits, COO Germany. Still unused but looks like a sturdy piece of kit. Shame on Gedore for changing the steel storage case to plastic. The older steel case: Apparently there is also a version made in...

Re: Show is your pb swiss tools! For clean environments go Swissgrip, for automotive and other grimy stuff go Multicraft. If you feel really nostalgic get the Classic handle (I don't like the shape). The textured acetate material on the Multicraft is easier to clean than the tacky Santoprene...

    SnapOn socks, any place cheaper?

Since I'm working with sulphuric acid I wear out socks at an alarming rate. After several uses and washes they just fall apart. What are good socks for that kind of environment?

I have finally found tools I will never use again

The 5.5mm is not an obscure size at all. It's the standard DIN head size for a M3 bolt. The 6.5mm, now that is a strange size. Most brands don't even make it. The one tool I'm absolutely sure I will never use again is a 10 point socket for control arms on a RSX.

Re: Show is your pb swiss tools! I couldn't even buy it like this, had to put this assortment together myself. I think it was something crazy like 120 - 150 bucks. Don't tell the girlfriend! :D

    0.5mm Allen Key

I think the smallest metric hex size is 0.71mm which equals 0.028". Never heard of a 0.50mm, and I worked on lots of small stuff in the past. Even both my Wiha precision master sets don't have it.

    Tools from the old world

Cute PB magnetizer. I bet the bit driver is made by Bost, same OEM as Facom Protwist and Stanley Fatmax screwdriver. Quality piece of kit!

    What's the best hacksaw?

La France. All Facom hacksaws are made there except for the 607.MT that is from Italy

Re: Show is your pb swiss tools! They are still going strong. Truth be told, I only use the Swissgrip handle drivers at jobs in relatively clean environments. For working on vehicles and other grimy stuff I tend to use acetate handle drivers like the PB Multicraft handle or the blue "Gedolat"...

    What's the best hacksaw?

I never had problems with any name brand bi metal hacksaw blades. The only bad ones I ever used were chicom blades from the dollar store. Yes there is Monte. It is inside the area that I circled in blue. It's a bit hard to spot during regular use. Kinda like the "France" molded on the Protwist...
