Kent Moore, Hinkley Myer Automotive Tools

Thanks for the link. It's a bit of a mystery but I'm mostly curious what years they were sold or if they were sold for a specific job. I've looked through some Dake catalogs and seems like their similar press was advertised for generator bearings so this might of been Hinckley-Myers answer to...

Kent Moore, Hinkley Myer Automotive Tools

Hi there. So after extensive googling I came across this thread and thought I would chime in. I just picked up this little manual screw press at an estate sale for $15. I originally thought it was maybe a homemade press, but between the many layers of paint I found the data plate. Hinckley...

    Picked up a Craftsman 113.27520

Excited to finally acquire my first table saw! $20 at an estate sale this morning, was tucked under a bench marked for $80 and 75% off today. I'm looking forward to giving it a good cleaning and thorough inspection. No extensions or miter, but fence operates smoothly, came with the blade guard...

let's see your craftsman block grinders

I actually remember you suggested this when you helped me with my drill press and used this technique on my bandsaw. It does look fantastic and is super simple to do. Will see what kinda condition it's in when I start tearing it down. Greatly appreciate the help and advice as always!

let's see your craftsman block grinders

That very much is the coolest/craziest grinder stand I've ever seen (y) (y) (y) Well I'm in desperate need of organizing my garage. I not only picked up the grinder but a scroll saw, portable thickness planer and a small jointer. If I can come up with some clever ways of saving space I...

let's see your craftsman block grinders

Here's one I restored awhile back, 397.1958. I think I paid $40? It was actually the start of my vintage tool addiction. And here's one I just picked up today! For $24 at a local estate sale I couldn't pass it up. Anyone know what color it would be originally? I'll probably get around to doing...

    Delta Homecraft Bandsaw/Kingston-Conley Motor

Here's the bandsaw. Everything lubricated, new blocks, tires (not pictured), and I have a link belt for it as well. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. One of the needle bearings in the upper wheel was seized, but a little Kroil and a pick and she's rolling smooth again. I'm happy with...

    Delta Homecraft Bandsaw/Kingston-Conley Motor

So I purchased a couple weeks ago and thought I would share it with everyone. I'm wrapping it up this weekend and just need to purchase a cable for the motor and finish the wiring the switch. Here's as I got it. I was not a fan of the John Deer green so I blasted and repainted it at work...

    Is this worth saving?

Yea I have a hard time throwing out stuff like this and it ends up sitting in the corner of garage for years. I might keep an eye out for a cheap 1/2 hp craftsman I could use while I try out the Delco one I have.

    Is this worth saving?

Just smaller wood projects. I have it disassembled atm to repaint. I cannot stand the tractor lol. It's missing the tilt table handle and the blade guard that I'm sure I can fabricate. Tires are in pretty good shape for the age. I'll try the 1/4 when I get it back together.

    Is this worth saving?

So I recently acquired a Delta Homecraft bandsaw for cheap. It's nothing crazy fancy, but it came with 2 motors, a nice table, needs some clean up and paint but not much else. My question Is about this motor. This one was used with the bandsaw, it runs fine, no abnormal noises, but the rear...

My New/Old Craftsman 103.23131 Drill Press

So I have it back together, motor mounted, and it works great! I'm getting a chuck and adjustable motor plate from FrankLee because of some wear on mine I was a concerned with and I think the plate is a worthy upgrade after fiddling with shims and such to get the motor level. Overall I will...

My New/Old Craftsman 103.23131 Drill Press

So I finally remembered to take more pictures of the Versamatic...I'm still confused on this setup and what its purpose is. I would think with this sort of cutter you would want a higher speed not a slower speed. Also I'm not sure which end would be mounted. The portion with the cutter has a...

    Considering this Craftsman band saw

After reading your guys' comments and doing a little more research it's pretty much concluded its better to save for a nice 2 wheel. I did consider picking this up for the stand and the motor, but I feel like I might just get stuck with trying to sell the band saw. There are some nice looking...
