I tried plastic welding,I'm not as good a plastic welder as I am steel,Lol ! I think it really was a preparation issue. Anyway the plastic weld didn't stick. I v'd out the crack better, sanded it ,and applied two coats of JB weld, over two days......so far it's holding water Will keep you posted!

Strength wasn't a need for the socket. Took a die grinder & ground two notches in it. It was an old 12pt rusted socket from an estate sale,if it wasn't used for this it was destined for the scrap pail...lol

    Repairing plastic basketball net base

My neighbor's wife drove over the edge on the base of their basketball net the other day. It's one of those black plastic ones that you put water in for ballast. Anybody have any experience fixing a crack in one?

The modified socket in the upper right reminds me of one I made to screw out the petcock on the water trap at work. It's 8ft from the floor,a cut out socket & some extensions, and I can reach it.

I love the versatility of the different shanks,I have the stubby with inter changeable shanks as well. The only trouble I had was,if I put bits in the handle, the cover was never tight enough. The cover would come off,and the bits played "hide & seek". A dab of atv and problem solved,I don't need...

I have the Gearwrench set,I have other gearwrench pass through set,and I can use the extensions if need be. Been happy with it. It's got a hex receiver for dies, the round ones won't work.

Sharpened drill bits don't last 5 seconds.

We have a recall on the front fuel tank strap frame mount on Ram 1500's. The drill bit provided in the original recall kit is now about 2 1/2 inches long. it's been sharpened, many, many times & seems to be always chipped when I get it. To me with the right sharpening, speed & force, I can really...
