My kinda new 24x36 with loft barn style

I used HGTV Ultimate home design. There are others that may work better, but this will do. Here is an updated drawing. I removed the double oven and welder, I'm using the 220 for the lift. Plus it's taking up too much space. So there is a storage rack there now. I'll use the cheapo Mig...

My kinda new 24x36 with loft barn style

Thanks for taking the time to draw this out. That is kinda what was in my head. I just haven't seen it in use anywhere. I like the beer barrel. It would go with my man-cave ideas for the upstairs. It WAS a lot of room upstairs. Now it's filled with furniture and boxes that didn't fit in...

My kinda new 24x36 with loft barn style

I'm on the lookout for a wood stove. I'll have to rearrange things a bit, but I'll get the cars in there and see how things fit. I'm thinking of something like this stove and heat exchanger. Go up thru the floor of the loft and put the exchanger up there, then out the top...

My kinda new 24x36 with loft barn style

An overdue update: We finally moved in, so I've had some time to work on the shop. I added insulation and pressboard to the 1st floor. Well, most of it. Then I broke out the airless and sprayed a couple coats of bright white. Then I added the all important racing stripe. I needed a lot...

My kinda new 24x36 with loft barn style

I'm not really such a downer, I'm just excited that I'm actually going to have a nice big shop.

My kinda new 24x36 with loft barn style

My plan is to install it in the shop below and let the heat rise to the loft when it's needed up there. Possibly run the exhaust thru the 2nd floor and install some sort of heat gathering reflector off the pipe for a fireplace of sorts for the 2nd floor. I need to do some research. Most of...

My kinda new 24x36 with loft barn style

Thanks for the link. I'll do some research. We were offered a cheap pellet stove, don't have a pic of it. I did do a search on CL and found a couple that might work for cheap prices. Getting a true wood stove is likely my best bet. Our property must have 1000 trees on it. BTW, I love your...

My kinda new 24x36 with loft barn style

It's nicer than I deserve. All my parts and pieces of counters and storage just barely fit. Nothing pretty, but maybe that will be an anniversary present someday. Stove question. Will a pellet stove also burn wood? I have lot's of wood, (seriously) but nothing to burn it in.

It's a 9' in the shop and 7.5' in the loft. The plan is to box in the area above the lift and raise it up 3' or so. There's a window on that end of the loft that I don't want to block. We'll see if that happens. Right now I use the lift in a 9' garage without any real issues. 15 years old.

That's the name! We keep calling it the barn. But, no horses, just horsepower.. Minimal snow in this area. The neighbors say it hardly ever sticks. But good be aware of in case of a freak storm. "They" say climate is changing... The loft is massive. I can store a lot of **** up there..

It's actually for powdercoating. I'm hoping to open up the top and bottom to connect them together for a larger compartment. Of course I've been saying that for several years. By my calculations, there is just enough room to squeeze the Porsche by a vehicle on the rack. If not, there is...

Thanks, I'll need to replace some boards and maybe add some rails, but that's down the road a bit. A bbq will find it's way there soon.

My kinda new 24x36 with loft barn style

I figured that I should get thing started. We recently purchased a new to us homestead. It has 6 acres on a hilltop in Oregon. Most important to me is the 24x36 shop with equal sized loft above it. I would rather have the extra height in the shop, but it's still more than I deserve. The...

    Home Security Systems

I went with SimplySafe too. You don't have to buy monitoring for zero dollars per month. Just the initial outlay of product. The only complaint is that they were a bit too efficient. I accidentally set off the motion alarm and they called 3 numbers within 2 minutes and then the cops. We...
