    Arthritis and tools

Just to add to the screwdriver options - I recently started using this vessel screwdriver and noticed its much easier on my hands, and is now my go-to.

@SilverJimmy Yeah the vibes on the old engine were pretty awful. I could see it tearing things apart if it hadn't decided to put itself out of its misery. Thankfully this new unit seems better balanced, or isn't rattling in its bearings. Anyway cheers to fixing up splitters and old LCs. Heres a...

Heating the shop office now means we're going through wood much faster so I needed to spend some time splitting. Last year I picked up a non-running splitter from a neighbor for $100. Threw a new $20 carb on it, and was off to the races. That was until the 'easy access' oil drain the PO put on...

Went with some picture frame window trim. Still finishing it up and trying to decide if I should add cove cove molding. Decisions decisions. This is the first time I've ever used a table saw, and it seems like a super power being able to rip things to size. I've said it a bunch before, but...

@Bad Mojo Thanks, guessing you're a cruiser owner yourself? Quick update on that 60 (my neighbor's) since you mentioned it. Got the engine rebuilt and installed over last summer. Rebuilt the wiring harness the rodents absolutely destroyed. Rebuilt the front axle and brakes. A whole list of...

How would you paint something on a car subject to damage?

Powder coat with satin black rattlecan touch-ups have been working great for my LC over years, however it just sees the occasional departure and breakover contact, not a rock basher.

Couldn't resist and moved in to the office before its complete. Wood stove is pumping out tons of heat and the snow is piling up. Not missing the small bedroom office one bit.

    Heating the floor or no?

Thought I'd post my situation in case its helpful. I put pex in my slab but have yet to connect it to anything. I have an office that I've been using for the last month or so off the side of my detached shop. I wear multiple wool socks and mucklucks to isolate my feet from the floor. Even with...

Finally started the process of multiplying my square footage with shelving. I was starting to trip over and lose track of things to the point I was getting pretty anxious even walking through the space. Since the shared office wall is now insulated, that meant that I could start covering up the...

More progress. Ended up with a leg anyway, the juice didnt seem worth the squeeze when it came to welding up a wall-mount support. I ran out of gas as I was finishing up the welds on the leg, so that was a good choice. 40 sq ft of desktop. It'll be a feat keeping it uncluttered.

Here's the start of the desk I mentioned for the garage office. I wanted it to span the length of the room without legs, and minimal deflection/bounce, so am using 3x3x1/8 square. Will have an 'L' which isnt in place yet, that will use 2x2. I got to use the welder sooner than I thought on the...

Decided to go ahead and wire the whole garage. Got the electric permit. I crossed the t's and dotted i's but they basically looked for the ground and tested one circuit for GFI. That was it. I wired everything with alternating circuits, and as you can tell by the following photos, if you're...

    Garage/office, shop wiring

You're right the discussion was in the Mike Holt forum around changes to the chart in article 310 and did not include the amperage for #2. Im going to disappear from this thread, but will buy my 90A breaker and am grateful you guys probably saved me a return visit for my final.

Just conveying what I ended up with, not meant to be explicitly applied to the OP. I should have made that clear. Edit - Looked closer in to the 2023 NEC and I might be buying a 90A breaker before inspection. Thanks @Norcal. Looks like #2 was sufficient for 100A at some time in the past, lots...

    Garage/office, shop wiring

Just going through this now. I went with #2 aluminum for 100amp service to a 40 space panel in my shop/office combo. 1.5 inch conduit. Other than that, your plan looks very similar. I have a few circuits ran already and so far, so good. I pulled a piece of twine through the conduit by tying a...
