BFR57 As I noted above, the best method is to use Veno's lumens total (the amount of light) for his garage sq footage to get the lumens per sq ft and then multiply that by your sq feet. From that you can decide who many fixtures you want to use to acquire that amount of light. The more...

I have 14' at the peak. It is a finished ceiling painted white. I used Veno's (the author of this thread) total lumens numbers to calculate what I needed for my garage and ended up using 23 watt (100 equivalent) daylight bulbs and have no issues. No reflectors. I think the finished ceiling...

In my garage as seen in this posting, I have 14' to the peak. But as you can see, it is a finished interior that is all white. Thus all the light is reflected down. I would think reflectors are needed is you have open space above the fictures. My garage is using 100 watt bulbs of 5600K.

I googled "commercial troffer" as that is what was suggested. At other lighting threads, good fixtures with ballasts that willl last tend to be more than what was quoted. If you are asking regarding Veno's fixtures, the cost mentioned was what he paid. For my garage, I was able to get away...

Actually, the bulb Veno ended up using was 6670 lumens and 6500K for a 53.36 L/sq ft. $0.0057/L Veno used 16 fixtures. Googling your suggested fixture comes up $75 to $92/fixture. The other key is the Kelvin. In my pictures they are 6620K. My total fixture/bulb cost is about $6. My...

These are a few more pictures of the lighting. The first 2, # 30 and 37 are from the front right corner under the loft. Lights are on, day and then a night shot. Pictures 32 and 35 are looking into the main bay (middle) from outside. Day and then night. Pictures 39 and 40 show the main bay...

    Lighting and CLF

Here are some pictures of my garage using the CF bulb. These are 100 watt, day light bulbs. I used Veno's numbers for lumin/sq ft and came up with 16 bulbs in the main 2 bays. There are 3 in the bay with the loft over head. I should have put 2 more in this third bay closer to the door. There...

    Lighting and CLF

I just used this setup for my garage. It is stick built, sheet rocked painted white with 14' at the peak. 35 X 24 inside. I took Veno's total lumens, did a little math and came up with a factor that I then used for the square foot of my garage. I was able to use 100 watt day light bulbs and...

GE Load Center and Main breaker kit install?

Never mind. I found my error. Seems even though all the info from GE states I need a TWMH000 kit, which includes a part to attach to the panal and to insert the breaker, all I really need is a little clip to hold the breaker in place in the existing slots and feed through it. Thanks any way.

GE Load Center and Main breaker kit install?

I have a GE TLM1212CCU(G) Load Center that I need to install their main breaker kit TQMH000 into. The instructions do not reflect this panel, however this is the part for this panel. So, I'm hoping someone here is familiar with GE stuff and can tell me how this is suppose to go together.

Overhead storage loft - Input appreciated

Had an engineer figure it. 24' LVL. 3 pieces to make it 6" wide. I believe it is a 2 X 10 for each section. The joist is 2 x 8 with hangers on the beam, jack stud at the wall. This made the construction simple. This is not meant to be a second floor as in a house. So, I accept some...
